Boston wins game 1 behind soon-to-be Cy Young Winner Josh Beckett. As I figured, it is going to be very very unlikely Colorado can win this series. I am rooting for them though. But all AL teams had better records than any NL teams in the playoffs and Colorado got here on a hot streak which Boston destroyed in a big way. I "predict" Boston in 6. I "want" Colorado in 7.
  2. As I figured it looks more like Mattingly will be manager than Girardi. I liked Mattingly, but I feel like he won't be a good manager. So i guess I will root for them to hire him where the Yankees do bad. I know myself that it won't be from Torre being gone, so I don't care what anyone else thinks anywya. I just want them to do terrible, as I want the red sox to do terrible.

    Boo Boston.

http://collegebasketball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=728922 Even I am surprised at this one. We have the #2 center in the country to go with our #8 point guard and #6 sg.

67/100 62/100 The sun annoyed me and made me miss 9 straight. lol

http://collegebasketball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=727928 Another of our players on a top 10 list.
  7. It doesn't matter what they did as a result. They won by less than they would have, thus my point that they won on talent and luck, not Torre. Now i actually am going to root for the Yankees net year just to back me up that Torre made horrible decisions. Then we will hear your excuses of why they go futrhter. I am torn between wanting them to be horrible and wanting them to be great. If they DO become horrible it will be becuase of players leaving, NOT becuase of Torre. Basically his luck ran out. His move with Canseco turned out fine due to luck. His bad moves finally caught up to him this year as the placers aged and didn't give him the same quality talent as the past. Especially guys like Mussina and Clemens and Rivera. I read yet another article today about Torre's press confernce where even Torre himself said he was pretty much fired becuase the team made an insult offer then would not even negotiate on it. They wanted hikm to turn it down, just as I said. I think Steinbrenner knows usttttt alittle more than Torre about business decisions.
  8. Joe didn't so much throw it back in his face the way people are saying. In a way he did, but it's also being said that the Yankees purposely offered him only a 1 year deal to show they didn't really want him and they were putting on an act for the players and fans where there would not be uproar. Either way you look at it although Torre is a better than average manager, he was not nearly as good as he is made out to be. He made some horrible decisions while being the manager, such as barely using Jose Canseco when Jose was hitting well. One day he hit a homerun into the upper deck then Torre doesn't use him again for half a week. This year when Giambi was hot Torre ruined it by not using him every day so he got cold again. He is also very stubborn about his decisions. Long story short... with the talent the Yankees had several other managers could have won them more world series. I also don't think the Yankees will make the playoffs again for a few years and girardi will only have them win about 80 games if he becomes manager.
  9. So far I haven't found any really. This one was from May and what i notice from it is mainly that Georgetown suddenly jumped way up in their predictions from the time of this poll until the more recent preview. Judging by last year one of the 2 main polls should be released in about 1-2 weeks.
  10. http://collegebasketball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=727515 Looky looky at the only one on the top 10 who has not even played a game in college yet.
  11. As is usual for people who run their mouth, Eric Byrnes could not back up his outrageous claims that they were not being outplayed by the Rockies and that they were better. he even made the final out on a check swing roller. The Colorado Rockies are now headed to the World Series after winning their 21'st game int he last 22. It is an amazing streak and I not hope they will meet the Cleveland Indians. Honestly as much as I want Colorado to get another sweep, I think the AL proved it was much better than the NL this season. So they will have a VERY hard time sweeping either Cleveland or Boston.

Yeah I didn't watch the last game, but I did see the horrible job Owens was doing on a couple of late plays.

Well Midnight Madness was fun. I took 10 videos with my phone, but the quality is bad. The sound is so loud on them though. lol Also some are too big to email to myself which makes me mad. The possible top freshman in the country (Derrick Rose) was not in the dunk contest , but Calipari asked him to do one dunk just for him and he did an amazing dunk. Also Joey Dorsey did probably 10 dunks or more during a short scrimmage.

Well guess I will keep talking to myself. lol Colorado has now won 19 of their last 20. So amazing. So amazing. I want them to not lose another game. In a way I want Arizona to win it all, but all along either NL team was who I wanted and I rthink I would prefer COlorado becuase I love how they barely got in.

I personally dislike the Patriots so much I will have to root for Dallas this time. I like only Indianapolis much, but I definitely dislike the Patriots mroe than any other team. lol
  16. http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/ncb/index Notice the #1 and #4 must see games for this season are Memphis games. We also play Tennessee in February which I personally think will be huge because Tennessee is supposed to be ranked barely below us. Well ia m about to be off to Midnight Madness.
  17. I am going to Midnight Madness tonight (which isn't at midnight anymore). It will be televised at midnight ET on ESPNU for anyone who actually has that channel.

68/100 64/100 It was pitch black for the last ones. lol
  19. http://collegebasketball.rivals.com/conten...&CID=724427 I figured they would put North Carolina ahead of us even though the ACC is not supposed to be very good this year and we will have the #1 nonconference schedule. But it's cool. Being preranked #2 in the country is fine. So we are #2 on 1 preseason poll and #1 on the other 2. I just hope when the real polls come out we're #1 becuase we have only been #1 for 1 week in school history.
  20. Look at #3. hahahahah 2 teams left, baby. Let's see if this is yet another consensus for memphis #1.

I am assuming Steinbrenner is all tlak. But I can't stand the yankees so i hope it's true that he gets rid of horrible Torre and then a lot of stars will be gone. It will end up where they have to depend on youth and rebuild, regardless of what Steinbrenner will pay. So 3 of the 4 I wanted to move on have indeed made it to the LCS series. Now I like every team equally except I hate Boston. Anyone but Boston and I will be happy. Rooting for the NL team this year though. I like them both better than either AL team.
  23. I will be updating this list as Rivals.com reveals the remainder of its preseason rankings. They are a very well known site for predictiong college sports and keeping up with recruiting. Thus far all but 3 teams have been named in their top 64. The last three remaining are memphis, UCLA, and North Carolina. So we shall see where Memphis ends up being ranked. We already have been ranked #1 by both cbssports.com and ESPN. Some notes: Even Butler and Arkansas are ranked better than last year's #1 seeds Ohio State and national champs Florida. Only Memphis and UCLA keep getting #1 or #2 seeds each year regardless of who they lose becuase they have such great recruiting. Even Conference USA has another team ranked better than Florida; UAB. Duke is way down at #16 to start the season. Memphis faces the #6, #9, #10, and #12 teams this year so nobody can whine about our "weak schedule". We even play GHonzaga and then UAB twice for 3 more top 40 teams. Southern Miss is barely out of the top 40 and also we may play Kentucky in a tournament. Our schedule is definitely going to be #1 nonconference in the nation. Hopefully a couple teams in conference will surprise and be ranked well. 64. Drexel 63. Fordham 62. Minnesota 61. Brigham Young 60. Auburn 59. Saint Louis 58. Purdue 57. Rhode Island 56. Georgia 55. Siena 54. Western Kentucky 53. Georgia Tech 52. VCU 51. St. Joseph's 50. Oklahoma State 49. West Virginia 48. Well 2 of the 4 I wanted to win are already going to the next round. Arizona won their game easily and Colorodo won their 17'th game out of their last 18 to move on also. The Indians should go, so I am only worried about the Angels. In a way I want Boston to win anyway becuase I like a few of their players. But in all honesty I can't root for them.
