He wasn't wearing a helmet and the eyewitness claimed Roethlisberger was reportedly bleeding "profusely" from the head. Bill Cowher famously advised Roethlisberger to start wearing a helmet after Kellen Winslow's accident last year. An eyewitness told Pittsburgh television that Roethlisberger flew over the handle bars head first into the car's windshield his motorcycle struck. He was conscious after the accident. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has detailed the severity of Ben Roethlisberger's injuries. "Roethlisberger lost most of his teeth, fractured his left sinus cavity bone, suffered a nine-inch laceration to the back of his head and a broken jaw, and severely injured both of his knees when he hit the ground," police said.
