For the first time ever, the NCAA released the RPI publically. http://web1.ncaa.org/app_data/weeklyrpi/rpi1.html
  2. Duke wins by 2 thanks to the officials. Just like with Memphis, Boston college was robbed of a victory over Duke because the officials always like them and help them. That is why I can never root for Duke. It is unfair how theya re treated. With about 7 seconds left, a B.C. guy went up for a layup and Sheldon Williams of Duke threw him to the ground without touching anything BUT his body. No hand on the ball, no going for the ball, nothing but tossing him to the ground and no foul was called. Then Duke got the rebound and amde 2 free throws. Then B.C. went down and made a 3 to cut it to 2 and basically end the game. Terrible that DUke is handed their wins on a platter so often.

This is disappointing. UCONN held on to win by 4 points.

So far CBS thinks Calipari should be the national coach of the year. That would make me almost as happy as the team winning the national championship, since my cousin and uncle are deluded enough to think he is a bad coach and only a good recruiter. He's a great coach, great recruitor, and a great person. He cares about the PLAYERS as people.

yesterday: 70/100 55/100 Today (realized half way through the second set that all this time I have been shooting an extra 1-2 feet back, which sucks): 65/100 57/100 (got annoyed and kept throwing up crap to get to the next 100) 84/100 (best thus far) 74/100 (or maybe 73, I was VERY mad at how that one finished. I started out 33 out of 34 then end with that low of a % because it was so dark!)

Itw as dumb for HIM, I am saying. The Padres never win divisions even with a lot of moves.

pretty dumb. Anything they do, they still never are very good. The name padres makes me think "mediocre".

#4 Texas is about to lose. Although it looks better for us when they and Duke win, Texas was doing so good, had the longest winning streak, and could have moved ahead of us soon when UCONN and Duke lose, even if we keep winning. SO now we get breathing room at #3 to where if UCONN and Duke both lose, Memphis SHOULD be #1.

Best, funnest game of the YEAR. We played a team who only lost by 2 at Kentucky and we destroyed them by 33 points. Guys who hadn't scored all year scored, a guy who hasn't played much at all and is a forward got a 3 pointer sand scored 15 points. We had 4 people with double digit scoring and 1 with 9 points. The shortest player on the team was dribbling the ball to run the clock out to end the game and the fans kept chanting for him to shoot so all of a sudden he changed his mind, went all the way to the basket, did a layup as the horn sounded. Awesome awesome game. And the announcers said we may be the OVERALL #1 seed in the NCAA tournament, not just "a" #1 seed. We now play 3 straight road games. If we win those (against bad teams) then we should be ranked #1 because Duke and UCONN WILL lose within the next 2 weeks, I guarantee it.
  13. I have to get up by noon to watch the game. ahhhh.

Once again for people like Aaron who told me this topic is stupid, I am posting it to keep up with things myself. Part of why I have a forum is I never have to go look for somewhere to keep info i want to read later. Today i shot 500 shots in a row for the first time ever: 71/100 79/100 74/100 71/100 79/100 (last 100 in the dark... got very hard to see and my left arm hiurt bad. I so badly wanted to get 80 to bring the 500 average to 75, but I came up 1 short by missing a shot with only 3 to go. But I will take 74.8% of 500 in a row).

#3 Memphis beats UAB to go to 18-2. UAB: Led the country in steals the past THREE straight years, they are seocnd in country this year, they lead the ENTIRE country in forcing turnovers per game, and they had THE LONGEST winning streak in the whole country by winning their last 10 games.

#5, #9, #11, #15 just all lost. #5 is Florida. Was set to go to #1 when duke lost and instead they now ahve lost 2 straight and may even fall out of the top 10! That is one thing people cant say about Memphis. We havent choked and lost to anyone bad. Even if we lose tomorrow (Thursday) that is a good team, despite being unranked. And a team in our "crappy conference" is who beat #9 west virginia.

That deal between the Pacers and Kings has been finalized, pending League Approval.
  19. Boston College will almost certainly lose tonight. On their way to North Carolina, their bus ran over a cyclist and killed him. So obviously that should affect them.
  20. Calipari decided not to kick Cooper off the team. He is only suspended indefinitely and will be back at some point. He is one of our many future NBA stars, so I am glad. We have a tough game Thursday. The only remaining team who has MUCH shot at beating us. I hope we play well. We need to win basically every game left to get the #1 seed, I am guessing.
  21. Helton also had surgery. Not really any place to put this and I dnt feel like creating a new topic.
  22. Bonds drops out.
  23. Wade Miller signs with the Cubs. (Lance Berkman having knee surgery, btw).
  24. Kareem Cooper arrested for marijuana possession. I assume this will end with him being kicked off the team. Hopefully he can stay on till he is sentenced or something.... He is not a starter, but is supposed to end up being a great player.

The polls are out and I am satisfied with them. Memphis even received a vote to be #1 for the first time in probably about 20 years. UCONN is #1, Duke #2, and Memphis #3. Then on one poll Texas is #4 and Florida is #5 and then the opposite for those 2 on the other poll. Frankly I can see both sides. If you go by win/loss records and RPI, Duke SHOULD be 1 place ahead of us. HOWEVER, they would never, I repeat N-E-V-E-R drop Memphis ONLY one place for losing to an unranked team! By the way UCONN and Duke will yes WILL lose within 2-2 weeks of today guaranteed. I would bet money. Starting next week Duke has to go on the road against 3 great teams. Boston college, maryland, and North Carolina, while also playing Florida State at home, who barely lost to N.C. last night. UCONN has to face Pittsburgh, at Indiana, and Syracuse all in a row. Memphis has to play UAB this Thursday and they are barely below being in the top 25. Then we play them again in March. But otherwise there is not any other good team in Conference USA. So we have a quite legit chance of never losing again and maybe even getting the #1 OVERALL seed if we are careful. ESPN sure is smart. I was trying to find out which coaches vote on the coach's poll and guess who voted for Memphis as #1. At the end of the poll where espn tells who votes, they freakin still list coaches from 2 or 3 years ago, and it is NOT correct because Huggins isnt even a coach anymore. lol
