  5. Ricky Henderson is my only definite. Tim Raines, Andre Dawson and Jim Rice would be my only other vote getters for this yr.

so, what are you trying to say?
  7. I thought it might be fun to see who we'd elect to the Hall of Fame if we actually had a vote. You can choose as many as 10 players or as little as 0. Please post your selections in this thread. Thanks Here are the players on this year's ballot (* indicates first time on ballot): Harold Baines *Jay Bell Bert Blyleven *David Cone Andre Dawson *Ron Gant *Mark Grace *Rickey Henderson Tommy John Don Mattingly Mark McGwire Jack Morris Dale Murphy *Jesse Orosco Dave Parker *Dan Plesac Tim Raines Jim Rice Lee Smith Alan Trammell *Greg Vaughn *Mo Vaughn *Matt Williams

You are the kind to blame officiating. But this time I agree with you so I think we both should be given back our points we bet.

I was actually pointing out that now your original post and thread title was accurate now that they have aquired Putz. Still always negative with you. Sabathia signing was a few days ago. Today they signed Burnett. Now I just need Peavy from Santa and I will a very happy boy. I have no idea why they are trying to deal for Cameron though. I also know this would never happen but Id like to see a Hideki Matsui/Prospect and cash to the Dodgers for Matt Kemp.

The mets have signed krod and traded for Putz. I don't know whether I think it's smart or stupid, but I am leaning toward stupid. While it would seem having two great closers amkes the end of their bullpen so great, the fact that Krod was nearly perfect saving games and Putz was dominant befre the injuries, means that there will be tension since both will want to close.

Just because you dont remember dosent make it not true.
  13. Mets signed Krod for 3yrs 37 mil.

Considering Wagner is out for almost all of next year after TJ surgery and that the Mets already said they won pick up his 2010 option I dont see what the problem is.
  15. Braves acquired RHP Javier Vazquez and LHP Boone Logan from the White Sox for catcher Tyler Flowers, infielder Brent Lillibridge, third baseman Jon Gilmore and LHP Santos Rodriguez. After a couple of days to think about it, it's still looking like a nice trade for Braves. Flowers is the only player they're all that likely to miss, and with Brian McCann installed at catcher and a very good first base prospect in Freddie Freeman at about the same level as Flowers, they were definitely dealing from a strength there. Vazquez has thrown at least 198 innings in nine straight seasons, going over 215 in six of them. He's never reached his full potential, but he's pretty much the ideal No. 3 starter, at least in the regular season. The Braves will have him at $11.5 million for each of the next two seasons. 16. According to ESPN.com, the White Sox will trade Javier Vazquez and Boone Logan to the Braves for Jo-Jo Reyes, Brent Lillibridge and a prospect. Ken Rosenthal agrees that the deal has been agreed to, but he doesn't think Reyes is involved. On the other hand, he believes young slugger Tyler Flowers might be going to Chicago in the trade. It sounds like it will be a good deal for the Braves, though there's really no need for Logan to be involved. They already have seven relievers better than him.
  17. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - Placekicker Lawrence Tynes of the Super Bowl champion New York Giants has asked the Bush administration to commute a lengthy sentence given to his brother for distributing marijuana. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/foot...tml?eref=si_nfl

    Wicked Crazy!!!
  21. Cubs re-signed RHP Ryan Dempster to a four-year, $52 million contract. The fourth year is actually a player option. Dempster gets a $4 million signing bonus, $8 million next year, $12.5 million in 2010 and $13.5 million in 2011. It will be his choice whether he returns for 2012 at $14 million. Dempster receives the massive deal even though he's had just two good seasons as a starter, those coming eight years apart. He was one of the NL's top pitchers last season, and his peripherals suggest that he can keep it up. Still, his previous record makes him difficult to trust. Source: Rotoworld
  22. Dustin Pedroia received 16 of the 28 first-place votes to top Justin Morneau and win AL MVP honors. Pedroia may not have been the best choice for the award, but he clearly was the superior option among the guys who actually had a chance of winning. Joe Mauer, the AL's most effective player, finished a distant fourth, receiving two first-place votes. Morneau received seven first-place votes, Kevin Youkilis two and Francisco Rodriguez one. By points, it went Pedroia (317), Morneau (257), Youkilis (201), Mauer (188), Carlos Quentin (160), K-Rod (143), Josh Hamilton (112), Alex Rodriguez (45), Carlos Pena (44) and Grady Sizemore (42). 23. Sources within the baseball industry believe CC Sabathia may be getting pressure from the Players Association to accept the six-year, $140 million offer from the Yankees.
  24. I am predicting Howard, Pujols and Delgado, in that order for NL MVP.
