Well, I beat you on the Tigers prediction. You said 6, I said 4. Now for mets, you say 5, I say 7.
  2. Jason replied to Jason's topic in Baseball
lol that's why I left off my mets prediction, to get you to say something like that. I probably would have picked Detroit to begin with thugh, but I'm not sure. In the mets series, I pick the mets in 7. I think the Cardinals will manage to win 1 more game without Carpenter starting and then they will win Carpenter's start in game 6 to send it to a game 7.

I predict the Tigers will win. Probably tomorrow with Bonderman.

He ended with 14 points and 7 rebounds in 28 minutes also.

Torre is officially staying, but arod is NOT being shopped around, according to Cashman. Keeping Torre is a bad decisiojn. I rarely agree with his decisions and then I am proven right by them never winning the World Series anymore.
  9. In their first game of the preseason, Philadelphia came back from 22 down in the third quarter to win the game thanks to........ a 3 pointer by Rodney Carney with 10.5 seconds remaining.

The Cardinals won their series. Cardinals vs. Mets A's vs. Tigers
  11. The New York Yankees are firing Joe Torre and replacing him with Lou Piniella. They also are reportedly attenpting to deal Alex Rodriguez.

    I drafted Harden I think.

I think it is 4-1. Maybe you won 3 espn, but I thought it was 2. Just keep in mind though 1 is rotowire (only one I ever did in rotowire), 1 is tsn (only 1 i ever did in tsn), and that I am undefeated in h2h. Many rotowire problems streamed to everyone. Bad draft setup in some ways, players listed twice in free agent lists in different spots, I never picked up 1 player who was supposedly first base eligible which I needed because on NO other site was he eligible there and played 0 games there in his career so I was scared I would pick him up and him not be eligible afterall and then I would have an illegal roster!, many players were listed by last year's team instead of this year's in free agent pickup lists, and thew first week of the seaSon it did not allow more than 1 pickup then suddenly it did, only weekly pickups which was idiotic also. The only excuses I myself have is being dumb enough to not change my strategy sooner. I loaded on closers and really I was ok in saves if I had just forgot saves sooner, I would have only had maybe 1 less point in saves, but then 15-20 more in starting categories POSSIBLY. And if THAT had happened I could have had a shot.

Aaron beat me in our auction league. No surprise really. He always beats me somehow. lol Although there are a few things that messed up, I have no excuses. He just plain beat me.

In one league, I won because of 11 rbis, 5 k's, and 0.015 e.r.a.. I won it by 3 and 1/2 points and those small numbers were worth 4 points. In my other league, almost all season it was close with MANY times of having 5-6 teams bunched together and I ended up winning by 16 and 1/2 points. I lost my other 2 leagues by 7-10 points. Grand Prize: $7,000.
  18. Jason replied to Jason's topic in Baseball
Well the only way I would win under $7,000 now is a miracle or TERRIBLE starts by Harden and Carpenter. Still mathematically have a shot at $14,000, but it won't happen. I am hoping Harden and Carpenter win, where 1. there will be no playoff game and 2. I would then gain a couple points and possibly win both of my leagues by double digits.

Standings Going Into The Final Two Days: Dodgers and Padres tied for division lead, and are 2 up on Philly with 2 games to go. So it is unlikely Philly will make it. Tigers and Twins still tied for division lead, and the loser wins the AL Wild Card Berth. Boston is tied with Toronto. lol And St. Louis now has a 1 and 1/2 game lead over Houston (with 2 or possibly 3 games left). I think dodgers will win the division, Padres will win the wild card, tigers will win theirs, twins the wild card, and cardinals will hold off the astros. I am hoping Toronto does better than Boston. lol

Well I will for sure win 1 league for $3,500. Then I am barely up in another for $3,500. But I have suddenly fallen TOTALLY apart in my other 2. In one league I was 1/2 a point back last week and I am now suddenly 13 back. I LED that league by 13+ myself MUCH of the season. I would say my chances are 99%, 75%, 50%, 20% at winning them.

Also forgot to mention the reds still have a VERY slight chance. Pretty much a no though.

Well there are only 4 days left in the 2006 MLB regular season. Teams still battling it out for spots in the playoofs include the padres, dodgers, cardinals, and astros.
  23. Twins officially in playoffs.
  24. The White Sox will not be in the playoffs this season.

Yeah I loved that 5 game sweep. lol Only thing I don't like is it is pretty much assuring Papelbon will be out for the year and I had him on several big dollar fantasy teams. I am going to win thousands and Papelbon being out, and staying out due to them being out of the race at this point, may really cost me several thousand. Hopefully not.
