Posted January 21, 200620 yr comment_5153 http://cube.ign.com/articles/680/680820p1.html Unfortunately the GC version is not released until over a month later than xbox and PS2 and PSP. The xbox 360 isnt out until GC version though. I dont know if I can get used to a game not using the mechanice MVP used last year. The meters for throwing are VERY necessary to all baseball games now. (the fielding mechanics). The pitching sounds nice though how you cant aima breaking pitch for where you want it to end up, but instead must aim it to the middle of the plate to make it curve inside or outside, for example. The hitting stick sounds innovative. I am not sure how this will be. I really want it, but apparently pitching will be tooe asy still, with no meter and there will be no fielding meter, as far as I can tell.
January 22, 200620 yr comment_5160 I didnt read far enough to see when it comes out. Do you know? I'll definetly give it a shot but I'll have to wait till ps3 comes out before I buy any new games.
January 22, 200620 yr Author comment_5162 It comes out April 10th for me, but beginning of March for some systems.
January 23, 200620 yr comment_5171 Ea Sports is still making a baseball game, only using college. MVP 06' http://www.easports.com/mvp06/index.jsp Im actually looking forward to it.
January 23, 200620 yr Author comment_5172 I knew they were doing it, but I just dont see me or you either one liking a college game. But anyway they are using a similar "hitting stick" to this other new one.

January 24, 200620 yr comment_5192 I like the idea of the insiders edge but the hitting didn't sound to thrilling to me. Pitching sounded ok but not great. So far I am leaning towaards EA's college baseball. I will definetly have to try both of them out before i ultimately decide.
January 24, 200620 yr Author comment_5194 The hitting method is being used in MVP this year also, almost the same exact method. So whether you like it or not, there isnt muchw ay toa void it.
January 25, 200620 yr comment_5196 There is 1 way to avoid it. Not buy either and continue with MVP '05
January 25, 200620 yr Author comment_5197 I am tired of MVP. I havent even finished my first season and I have had the thing for approximately a year now. It is too hard for me to hit on. I remember Chad said it is easy. So I guess it's my vision or else I am just doing some certain thing wrong with the controls.
January 25, 200620 yr comment_5200 2 things. 1.Maybe Chad was just playing on easy mode. 2. Chad won the award "Most likely to be a fruitcake" on amg. haha
January 29, 200620 yr Author comment_5260 I dont like the looks of the video. It doesnt look very realistic. It's going to be annoying if this game isnt great, because there are no other options.
February 5, 200620 yr Author comment_5313 It has been announced ghat the World Baseball Classic will be in this game with all the countries who are participating in it.
February 5, 200620 yr Author comment_5319 I guess. IGN acts like it will cause fans to "salivate" but I dont see that is being THAT big of a deal! But at least it is something added which they didnt have to add to get money.
February 7, 200620 yr Author comment_5344 http://cube.ign.com/articles/685/685112p1.html That explains the pitching mechanics. It is kind of annoying that the view is from the mound and this seems way more complicated than it should. Especially when it comes to 2 player mode! I cant understand what in the world it is talking about. But a lot of it is full of rgeat ideas also. And also you can choose the option to have it the same pitching as traditional games or you can do it the new way where you must aim higher in the zone for a curve instead of aiming where you want it to end up. "I think so many times consumers get overly comfortable with how things have been done in the past that they don't expect anything different."--- I agree withthat, unlike Aaron. You have to be able to do changed things not just the same old thing every year.

February 17, 200620 yr Author comment_5457 http://cube.ign.com/articles/689/689033p1.html Everything seems great. Supposedly the "smartest game ever".
March 4, 200620 yr Author comment_5643 This game's graphics sure look terrible. The players dont look even close to realistic. pretty sad when a new game has worse graphics than the year before's games had. But the features seem great. For example, when you put someone on the trade block, you get fofers for them. Another thing that looks stupid in the videos is that when you're batting you apparently see some area behind the batter! In other words your view starts bhind him so you're even FURTHER form the pitcher than you would be in real life. That makes no sense at all. And since my vision sucks it may be enough to screw me up.
March 7, 200620 yr Author comment_5702 How did 999 release a MLB game also when 2k sports is the only team who was allowed by major league baseball to make one? Unfortunately MLB '06 has been rated "9.0/ superb" by www.gamespot.com and is only on PS2 and other SOny consoles so i can't try it. And what i dont understand is how their version LAST season was called major league baseball 2006. And THIS year's version is called MLB '06. How stupid is that? I hope 2k6 turns out good, but its graphics look terrible to me so far in videos.
March 12, 200619 yr Author comment_5949 Well it is only me posting in this topic but anyway I dont understand how 2ksports can be so stupid. A lot seems cool in their game ideas, but the graphics sure look abd in the viedeos, the fans look even mroe fake than ever, and now they say you can NOT THROW to an empty base OR balk in the game. They have several other everyday events not in the game also it appears. I hope somehow it is good enough to be worth buying. But it is starting to look bad.
March 12, 200619 yr comment_5956 I think not being able to throw to an empty base is a smart idea and helps cut down on stupid mistakes. What major leaguer throws to empty bases? I havent played it yet but I'm sure you can thro to a base that a runner is heading to but other then that I dont see a problem. Taking out Balks is not a big deal. Its a computer generated motion, not real life so Balks in a video game are not needed and would just be randomly generated anyway. I havent played the game so I cant really give an opinion on it but you are really nitpicking with these 2 things. From what Ive seen on TV though the graphics dont look all that spectacular so I do agree with that.
