Breaking News from Philly... Philadelphia (AP) - A seven-year-old boy was at the center of a Philadelphia Pa courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Philadelphia Eagles, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

Thats awesome. From your comments here you should do pretty good. Just dont join a pay league with me or Jason. We have both done this along time and there is much more involved then just knowing players. Even though I am up 4-1 on him now , He is very knowledgeable and usually kicks ass w/o me in the league. Im sure he will be able to give you a ton of pointers.

Cy young isnt about team domination. Its about pitching domination and carpenter was the most dominant pitcher in the NL this yr. You might be thinking of MVP award. Thats the award where team placement takes some precedent.

Several sources told Daily Southtown that the White Sox submitted a four-year, $52 million contract offer to Paul Konerko on Wednesday. As far as initial proposals go, that's pretty good. Konerko is going to at least see what the market has to offer before he gives serious thought to re-signing with the White Sox. He will probably ask for an extra year and a no-trade clause.

Prediction: Dodgers - three years, $18 million Paul Byrd (Angels) - Previous prediction: Orioles - two years, $12 million Byrd?s stock is on the way up after he finished the season with a 3.74 ERA. He may even get a three-year deal to become the third or fourth starter on a contender. The Angels will try to keep him. Prediction: Angels - two years, $14 million Kenny Rogers (Rangers) - Previous prediction: Giants - two years, $10 million It?s possible that Rogers? ridiculous behavior in late June will prevent him from getting a multiyear deal as a free agent, but I don?t think that will be the case.
