Visa Championships (U.S. Nationals) Saturday, August 13'th: 7-8 P.M. (CT) and Sunday, August 14'th: 6-7 P.M. (CT)on NBC Apparently these are both women's, although I am not sure about Sunday's. It is VERY pathetic NBC is only showing 1 hour, rather than 2 each day as they have done many tiems in the past. One hour is not even CLOSE to enough time to show a day's worth of gymnastics. You would think they would broadcast mroe after the sport gained many new fans from its showcasing in the Olympics last year. I also think it iss ad they dont show juniors. I mean come on, there are hardly ever even any big gymnastics meets, so it would not kill thema few times a …

Well Jordyn Wieber destroyed the competition by probably the most I've ever seen a gymnast win by in any meaningful competition. Pretty cool because she's yet another who I thought would be good before she was a senior gymnast. Very disappointing, though, that Rebecca Bross got injured and was crying. She's a great gymnast and seems nice. Hopefully she will be her old self by the time the Olympics starts next year though.

Jordyn Wieber won the 2011 American Cup. I forgot to mention it Saturday. Not that any gymnasts come here anymore to read thease anyway, but it's still interesting and I forget if I mentioned it here before, but Jordyn is one I believed would end up very good.

Rebecca Bross won Nationals. Cool to see her doing well and a favorite to win a gold in the olympics. I thought she would be great before she did rgeat as a senior. if she wins the all around gold at the Olympics in 2012 she will be the third straight WOGA girl to win it.

U.S. women destroyed all other teams at the Pacific Rim competition. I've thought for a while now that rebecca Bross is the best gymnast and they mentioned also that she may be the third straight WOGA girl to win an Olympics All Around gold. The most impressive junior was Jordyn Wieber. And she will be old enough for the Olympics also.

Shawn Johnson is going to train in hopes of being in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. I thought after you get money, you can't be considered an amateur anymore. But I guess it's just that you aren't an amateur if you go to college and do gymnastics? Not sure.

The U.S. women have been given the bronze medal for the 2000 games as it was stripped from China for using underage gymnasts. http://news.yahoo.co...nderage_gymnast Of course most everyone figures they did the same thing in 2008 so hopefully eventually that gold goes to the U.S. also and other individual medals lost to them.

Well Rebecca Bross won the American Cup competition. She's been the main gymnast I paid attention to since the beginning of last year so it's cool she won. However what's not cool is NBC's coverage. here locally for some reason a freakin USED CAR SHOW was on for the first 30 minutes. So that's not NBC's fault, but when it did get to the gymnastics competition THEY ONLY SHOWED Rebecca's last routine. So in a full hour all they managed to show was one routine. I know good and well they didn't show three of ehr routines in those 30 minutes the car show was on so appaently they didn't even show the whole competition. I think it was shown live so maybe things happened a…

I've noticed for a couple weeks now that Shayla Worley is at georgia. I could have sworn she was 17 or younger even now. But really she's 19 and a freshman at georgia. She is ranked #3 in the country and has been anmed SEC freshman of the week in back to back weeks!

Alicia Sacramone is dating Cleveland Browns QB Brady Quinn. Interesting and kind of odd. I just figured if any gymnast would be dating another sprots star it would be one of the others.

http://highschool.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1014473 Some high school gymnastics team won a competition and because of their coach questioning some scoring for other teams they were dropped and finished third. lol Why bother questioning things like that when you've already won? lol Or maybe she did it before they won, but I don't think so.

Briget Sloan won the national championship this weekend. Apparently nobody automatically qualified for worlds even if they win the championship now? That's pretty dumb if true. Also they made some new rule where you can't move your foot at all even at the end of tumble passes on floor or you get deducted!

I think "maybe" Hollie Vise will finally be on tv tonight on some comcast channel I have. I think Oklahoma is in the competition. But knowing my luck she won't be in the competition for some reason. lol edit: sigh... yep I was right that she wouldn't be in it. I saw Courtney Kupets in another one though.

http://hollievise.com/updates.html (I would post pics, but I remember her webmasters don't like that. Not sure if it is allowed if they aren't hotlinked or if they don't want them displayed no matter how). I just happened to go there just now and it was updated. Today is her birthday. I left a message in her guestbook. Really she has been my favorite gymnast for about 5 years. I would say her and Shannon Miller have got to be the 2 I have liked most out of the 13 years I have been watching. I also have liked Carly Patterson, Vanessa Atler, Dominique Moceanu, and Jaycie Phelps. (I also noticed 2 of the guys are going to Minnesota, Megan).

http://www.gymnasticssuperstars.com/tourdates/ This year's tour of gymnasts inclueds Nastia, Shawn, Shayla, Chellsie, Sam, Bridget, Shannon Miller, and Ashley Postell. Strangely no shows are in Florida, so I guess if Lynne wants to go she will have to go to some other state. lol There is a show in my state, but not my city, so i dunno. I think it's cool Shayla will be in it though. She is the only current gymnast in that list who wasn't on the Olympic team so she is special.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-womeng...story?track=rss No wonder she didn't make the team even as an alternate. She broke her leg yesterday. Disappointing for many reasons.

Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin, Bridget Sloan, Chelssie Memmel, Sam Peszek and Alicia Sacramone were selected to be on the U.S. gymnastics Olympic team. Very surprising that Jana was not selected and that Sloan was. Also Shayla was not even named an alternate, let alone one of the main six! This is the third olympics in a row where the main one I liked didn't even make the Olympic team. Vanessa Atler, Hollie Vise, Shayla Worley.
