Briget Sloan won the national championship this weekend. Apparently nobody automatically qualified for worlds even if they win the championship now? That's pretty dumb if true.

Also they made some new rule where you can't move your foot at all even at the end of tumble passes on floor or you get deducted!

Do you mean like they have to land it legs together and not move or do you mean when they do the lunge thing after?

I "think" it's just that when they land they can't immediately start moving before they "establish control" or something. They were tlaking about how it takes away from the artistic part of gymnastics. So you know when you land and then immediately start moving to do the next element? I guess you have to pause before doing it to show you landed well or something.

Yeah I don't know why they keep messing with rules. Most other sports don't randomly change rules as drastically. In college basketball sometimes they move the 3-point line a whoppign one inch or do some new rule, but gymnastics got strange when they changed the scoring system. Still whoever does best wins, but I liked it more where it was on a scale of 10.

Yeah, the new scoring system is too confusing to me. Its easier to keep track with the 10.

I bet they will go back to it at some point because everyone is annoyed with all the changes. lol

I don't see why they couldn't have left it a max of 10, but simply changed what has to be done to get a 10 a little bit.

Anyway hmm I don't necessarily like any current gymnasts too much. I don't have any particular favorite. Although I think quite a few of them could be good. Really nationals is all I've even seen on tv since the olympics. I guess I like Shawn and Nastia, but still been a while since I really had a favorite.
