If Calipari signs with N.C. State, someone is going to REALLY get trashed here. Whether it be Calipari for leaving or the staff at U of M for letting him go. Calipari does not like that his assistants are paid less than the Tennessee team's assistants. And I think he feels like Memphis isn't being fair enough with his PERSONAL salary either. If he does leave then Memphis will VERY quickly be a terrible team. It is too impossible to find a recruitor like him and also a coach of top quality.

Some local radio host talked to Cal on the phone and it APPEARS he is staying at Memphis. But you know how that works. They will claim anything rather than tell the truth. He could just be being polite.

It has been reported Calipari is about to sign a contract to stay at memphis. I hope it turns out to be true.

Also it is rumored Shawne Williams is going to stay ins chool 1 more year when most people assumed he would leave Memphis for the pros.

If both of these are true, go ahead and write Memphis down as next year's national champs.

If Calipari does indeed stay, it shows he isn't only after money. Without incentives he will make about $1.3 million per year supposedly and up to $1.7. But reports say N.C. State offered him almost $2 million per year!

It is also rumored if he stays, it is possible BOTH our stars may skip going pro until next year. If so, we will win the national championship frankly. We have 3 great new players coming, many guys improving from freshmen to sophomores, and the only loss of a guy averaging 10+ minutes per game would be Carney.
