July 12, 200817 yr Author comment_10279 I am 24+ out in all leagues. Half a season probably is not enough time to come back from that far down. Yes it is.
July 13, 200817 yr comment_10280 I dunno. I would have to start gaining a lot of runs and rbis and k's and wins. In somme leagues I am 20 wins back, 150 k's back, 80 runs back, 70 rbis back, and such similar numbers.
July 14, 200817 yr comment_10282 Now Lackey for Hamilton was protested maximum times and I know the commish is too dumb to approve it so once again I wasted time doing a deal. Hard to come back when I can't even get a deal done. Soon I am going to start adding and dropping like crazy to build up k's and wins because it's the only way since I am around 30 points ut. You say punt k's and wins by not adding, but that isn't acceptable because even the 10's in e.r.a. and whip mean nothing if the others are 4's and 5's.
July 15, 200817 yr Author comment_10284 I am also trying to find deals to round out my hitting. always seems to be shit on FA hitting wise this yr.
July 15, 200817 yr comment_10285 I hope someone other than CBS has good money leagues next year. Maybe fanball will end up being ok, but I doubt it would have nice crisp navigation like cbs has. I am sick of cbs' druggy commish. When I accept a new deal I am going to put a message with it and tell the commish that I'm sure he is not old enough to read it since he just hits the veto button like a little kid every time, but.... and then tell my reason for doing the deal.
July 17, 200817 yr comment_10300 I don't see why sites keep acting like Price will be called up and then they go weeks not mentioning him and I have no clue why a team half a game out of first place would randomly call up a minor leaguer to throw into their rotation. I don't know whether to keep holding him.
July 17, 200817 yr Author comment_10305 I think all these guys on fantasy sites make bets on how much a ownership % will jump by throwing some predictions on the home page.
July 18, 200817 yr comment_10313 Ha. Probably. Well I waived Price because I wanted to claim Chris Young. He is obviously a proven player and did fine in his rehab start yesterday. So rather than keep someone whose arrival date is unknown, I opted for the proveb starter who will be back late next week most likely. I also claimed Taveras and waived Bourn. I thus have injured Soriano (both of them) in my lineup. So I should maybe have waived pierre and kept bourn in, but bourn is not starting every game and Pierre is too close to returning to just waive now. I am starting to think this is my team with the best shot of winning. It is NOT the team with all the stud starters (not the REAL stud ones like santana and peavy, I do have zambrano and beckett and harden and verlander though). I am 24 and 1/2 out. The other two I am over 30 out in and can't get any trades done. On this one I have added such guys as weeks, both chris youngs, pierre, taveras, both sorianos, verlander, and harden within the past 2 weeks. Some I already had, but are coming back from injuries. Then some I dealt for or picked up. I already have great average and homerun stats so I am hoping these moves will gain me everywhere else. There is plenty time to gain in wins, e.r.a., whip, k's. A little harder to gain points in this league in runs, rbis, steals, and saves, but those all have plenty of points to be gained... they are just not ones I am close to gaining yet. I am hoping soriano closes soon to give me my third closer I need to stay in the middle of the saves category. My pitching staff is zambrano, beckett, verlander, harden, young, oliver at the moment. I probably should just ditch Oliver because one sign from last game was his high walk total. Makes me wonder if he is about to implode again. I should probably add and drop each day for oliver's spot. I don't really know any trades to do in that league because I don't need anything majorly. I like what I have. I have guys like berkman, pujols, ankiel, soriano for offense. Also hot huff among others. Then guys like weeks, figgens, pierre, taveras for speed.
July 18, 200817 yr comment_10316 I have GOT to stop using cbs from now on. Unbelievable. Now they suddenly approved the EXACT deal they vetoed last week. Harden for Hamilton. I think it was even vetoed TWICE. It can't be the same commish each time or else he's mentally ill. They didn't leave a message with it or anything, it simply was approved with no comments to the commish! Meanwhile lackey for hamilton was vetoed when I tried to get hamilton.
July 19, 200817 yr Author comment_10320 your right it shouldnt have been vetoed. Yes trading is way to hard in cbs.
July 20, 200817 yr comment_10325 The "experts" just change things around constantly. They said Isringhausen would close soon and he didn't. They said Soriano would close when he gets back and now they say "don't expect him to close". They can't make up their minds, but hey anything related to cbs sports is ridiculous.
July 20, 200817 yr Author comment_10327 I was expecting Izzy to close soon as well. Didnt thiknk Soriano would unless Gonzalez bombed.
July 20, 200817 yr comment_10328 Well hopefully Soriano does or I still have only 3 closers and in 1 league I waived cj wilson to pick up Zimmerman because I had just added Soriano.
July 21, 200817 yr comment_10332 Thanks. May jujst have to drop him/them. I don't know. Now I just dealt Cliff Lee and Felix Hernandez for Albert Pujols and Jose Valverde. And after I did it I realized I shouldn't have done it. I have dunn, manny, vladimir, and texiera all getting extremely hot now. Now I am left with santana, peavy, lackey, cain for my starters and will have to find others on free agency I guess or else deal some of my offense for those middle tier guys. So my pitching isn't bad since it has 3 studs at the top, however the question is "why" do it when my offense is heating up and I need a lot of wins. And this is a league where I waived c.j. wilson and a lot of closers sit on free agency. So valverde is nice, but not as valuable as usual. I wanted to deal cain instead of hernandez. Also Hernandez faces Boston this week and although he dominated them last time, I have a feeling I should bench him, which means I won't even get a last start out of him yet won't get anything in place of him for this week either.
July 22, 200817 yr Author comment_10333 I have a feeling that deal wont make it thru. Not trying to piss you off but People will veto it cause their idiots and cbs will veto it because they are to busy thinking up wrong information to post.
July 22, 200817 yr comment_10334 It got one less protest than needed and thus executed. Glad I didn't do it a couple days earlier or I would have had that bad Valverde performance.
July 25, 200817 yr comment_10349 Some mroon just said I am "an idiot" for offering him Michael Bourn for Chris R. Young. Guess he doesn't comprehend that Young is owned by LESS owners than Bourn. Idiot. Also recently he offered me Mclouth straightup for Santana. I am going to refuse to trade with him from this point forward becuase both of those actions were just too stupid to deal with.
July 25, 200817 yr Author comment_10352 mclouth for santana is closer then Bourn for young IMO. Bourn helps in 1 category, hurts in 4. Young was good for ratios and K's before the nose thing.
July 25, 200817 yr comment_10355 Mclouth for santana is horrible. If you don't think so then stop saying Santana is "above all other starters" like you usually say. I think Young is more valuable than Bourn rationally, but TRUE value-wise Bourn is obviously more valuable or Young would be owned by more people.
July 25, 200817 yr comment_10356 Yahoo is weird. On their mlb page they have pitchers with e.r.a. of 6+ for the past week listed as hot and a pitcher with under 3 e.r.a. is on the not hot list. A hitter who hit over .400 for the week is on their cold hitters list also...
July 27, 200817 yr comment_10361 I need to just never do daily leagues again. No matter how much time someone has, who wants to spend every day trying to beat out other owners to pick up pitchers? Thus I ahven't done that and it's killing my stats in k's and wins. It's just a ridiculous type of setup since they have no limit on innigns pitched. It's stupid. The best stats don't win because everyone keeps loading up and having horrid stats other than the 2 which aren't received by doing smart decisions, but rather by bulk ending up eventually adding totals. edit: see even when I do add them in weekly leagues those end up bad too. Marquis is falling aprt right now. It's hard to have any move go right this year.
July 28, 200817 yr Author comment_10363 That sucks bro. I hope u pull thru with 1. Dosent look like I'm goig to come back either. I cant get any trades done.
