Posted March 11, 200619 yr comment_5908 Since the first round is over its time to make a thread about this. There really werent any upsets in so there was no need to make this thread earlier. March 12th (all times est) USA vs Japan 4pm Mexico vs Korea 11pm Puerto Rico vs Dominican Republic 8pm Cuba vs Venezuela 1pm
March 16, 200619 yr comment_6073 South Korea beat Japan 2-1 so if Clemens can help the U.S. win Thursday then the U.S. will be in the semi-finals. Had this not taken place, U.S. would have been eliminated. And apparently the number of runs mattered also??? I dont know why, but apparently if it was a high scoring Japan win, U.S. would stay in... but if it was a low scoring Japan win, U.S. would have been out. Makes no sense in my opinion. lol
March 17, 200619 yr Author comment_6107 WOW. I didn't even remember about this. I was so busy watching basketball. Guess they lost to Mexico or didn't score enough runs?
March 17, 200619 yr comment_6112 They lost to Mexico 2-1 last night. Clemens lost despite giving up only 2 ruins. The story of his 2005 season.
March 18, 200619 yr Author comment_6121 I have 50 bucks on Cuba at 25-1 odds. So if they can somehow pull a major upset vs the dominicans I win a nice $1250. Plus they make a real nice cigar.
March 18, 200619 yr comment_6126 I knew you would say the reason was the money, but I think it is that you're a communist lover.
March 19, 200619 yr Author comment_6142 Cuba beats the almighty Dominican Republic. F*** Yea. 1 more to go.
March 21, 200619 yr comment_6175 I was rooting for Cuba, but would have rooted more if you answered my email.... Yahoo immediately put a headline about Japan winning, yet in other sporting events which are major they take hours to even bother doing headlines on them.
March 21, 200619 yr Author comment_6181 Oh well. Atleast they gace me hope by beating the Dominicans. Worked 14 hrs yesterday and doing another 10 today. No time to chit chat or answer emails.
