January 1, 200620 yr Author comment_4880 i remembered everything but my processor. ive been dealing with running out of HD space, just upgraded my RAM and graphics card, and had to reactive windows after installing my graphics card, so I had to reinstall the drivers for my sound card
January 1, 200620 yr comment_4883 Didnt I get a 1GB hard drive? I think so. But I didnt upgrade memory past 512MB.
January 1, 200620 yr Author comment_4887 a 1GB hd.... what world do you live in? Windows itself is over 2GB
January 1, 200620 yr comment_4901 uhhh, Dell Its Black Its got a screen Lots of wires inside the big box thingy. Some dust as well. Edited January 1, 200620 yr by FifteenBlade
January 2, 200620 yr Author comment_4903 heh mine was REALLY dusty inside too. I had to use a mouse cleaning kit that came with a compressed gas cleaner. I used that to blow off all the dust covering my PCI slots and also my PCI cards in my slots. My processor fan was COVERED in dust as well, same with the heatsink, so I had to clean those off. also, i had to blow all the dust out of my power supply. it had so much dust that the fan was off balance and making a ton of noise
January 2, 200620 yr comment_4904 Is that why my computer sounds like an old VW Bug with no muffler? I guess the cans of air dont work to well. I gotta bring it back to my friend who has an air compressor. Last time he used it He was blowing dust for almost a week out of it.
January 2, 200620 yr comment_4908 I remember my old computer really being dusty. Sometimes you can improve how they perform if you open them and get dust out.
January 2, 200620 yr Author comment_4930 heh i opened up my old computer for once again, after figuring out how i was able to get the power supply out without smashing all of my ata cords against the HD because they are in close proximity in my case....stupid HP... i hate HP so much. I got a new TV tuner with the ability to turn on my computer through that (like either i can use the remote to start my computer from the other side of the room or it can be used as like a timer recorder type thing) but it requires the ATX power cable to go through the card, obviously, before the front panel button. stupid HP ran all of the power cords into one connector, so I cant use their power cable to hook into my card otherwise my PCI cards, Motherboard itself, processor fan, etc. wont recieve power. to fix it, I had to create my own wire that is flimsy as hell and will probably break soon. i hate HP and their stupid proprietary cases
January 3, 200620 yr comment_4941 Ill have to clean mine out before my buddy gets over here to put my new DVD burner in.
January 3, 200620 yr comment_4944 i hate HP and their stupid proprietary cases When I had compaq, it had some annoying things about how it was built. And ALL Sony products have some cheap things to them now. The QUALITY is always top notch with Sony, but they build stands, monitor covers, VCR/DVD recorder casing etc.... really cheaply now to save money. I guess the quality is what matters most though, but still people want thigns to look right. My Sony monitor is soa wesome, but the cover wont stay on right so I just leave it off now.
January 4, 200620 yr Author comment_4945 i have a Sony DRU-720A Dual-Layer DVD Burner and its awesome. ONe of the best ones on the market.
January 4, 200620 yr comment_4946 The one I have now is a sony DRU -???. Cant remember the exact model number but it wasnt dual layer. It worked awesome though. Just slow. Only 4x. I want to bump up to 16x with 8mb cache. Seems to be hard to find. Whats the specs on the one your using now?
January 4, 200620 yr comment_4952 No clue about my DVD burner. I use my standalone DVD recorder. I wanted a new one of those, but I am starting to think I should wait because the blu ray dvd recorders will be out here at some point.
January 4, 200620 yr comment_4960 16x 2 Meg cache I would love to get a new Sony but I can't seem to find one that has an 8mb cache. I stay on the computer alot of the times I am burning a movie and the 2mb will slow my computer down to much. I think this is the one I'm gonna get. DVD Burner Seems to have the same specs as the sony, just not the Sony name.
