Cool Chels.

The reason I havenbt looked into changing the way things look is because when I upgrade to version 2.1 (possibly coming out this month) I lose all third party skins, emoticons, etc.

Also I am picky how the forum in general looks, so it has to look just right. As it is now, I like it.

I was going to try changing the blue areas to red but when I went in to actually EDIT the skin, I couldnt even figure out which setting was for what.

That would be nice if I could figure it all out and edit the skin to make my own skin. Then I could actually export it and give it away to other sites. But I dont know enough yet to figure that out.

Either way I for sure need to change the banner.

I like that banner. Not sure if it is the right size yet though, it looks like it may stretch my screen out if it stays that size. All i know is the size of the current one doesnt stretch. Also, I wonder how the words would look if they were somehow bolder, whiter, or something. Hmm. It does look good that color and match well though.

Hey Chelsea I found out how to put the banner on, but it indeed is way too big. See how the current one up there is lined up perfectly with the word "calendar" on the right? The one you made went to the right of that. Also yours was probably double the height also, although that doesnt matter near as much.

I will try to find out the exact sizes it needs to be or you can just see if you can figure it out.

Maybe a tad less height, but not a HUGE difference. Then I dunno 2 or 3 inches less in length from left to right.

Also could you try it with the name in the center? I just am weird about liking things centered sometimes.

Thanks!

By the way I was told about the most AWESOME site to help me easily change skins and other things! I even found zelda buttons! I will use them just in the nintendo forum I think!

I am going to try to make quite a fw forum areas look different than each other and make them very cool!

I am votin for the blue. It matches with the rest of the forum scheme.

Any way to make the Gottalk.com a lil 3d. I personally think it mike look more gooder.

BTW - they have a setting for a image called tile_back.gif. THAT is all that blue you see up their in the banner. The logo is a separate photo. Then somebody does that background and calls it tile_back.gif and replace the other. There is a setting already that makes it keep going until your window is filled. That way its the same no matter what the resoulution is. Try it and see how it works. :p

ok, I found out the problem. Logos are made up of 2 parts on this. That part with the name "invision power board" is the actual logo. That blue strip is called the "back" and it is set up to repeat itself UNTIL it fills the window. Thus whatever your resolution is for your monitor, that matters nothing. It automatically keeps repeating a little blue strip until it reaches the end of your window. That huge blue strip is really several smaller stips.

So you would need to:

1. Make a logo 68 pixels high and 225 pixels wide. Make it ONLY the words.

2. Make that colored area be a separate photo. I am not sure about the dimensions though yet.

Also I know how to center the words, as you can see at the top of the page currently.

Also you COULD make it taller than 68 pixels and I could adjust something to make it fit correctly. I believe the current one you made is 100 pixels tall.

Actually in fact even the 225 doesnt necessarily need to be done. HOWEVER, i think you should do that.

So i guess for now people could just make the 68 x 225 logos, rather than the whole thing. Make the background in that little logo what you want the entire strip to later be though. But just fill up this whole logo with the text.

i think this one looks fine until jason gets the right dimensions down...idk why some people dont like it but w/e lol

the only reason i havent been working on more, is because i dont wanna make wasteful ones until jason gets the dimensions down, then i can make one awesome one in different sizes, colors, etc
