I have noticed that Jason has stopped bugging everybody to post more the last couple of weeks. Atleast on here he has. I was one that thought it was quite annoying. But the fact is, posting has really fallen off since he stopped.

So my question is why?

Does it have to do with school, outside activities, jobs or just a lack of interest. If everyone starts posting alot of the threads could become good discussions. There are some cool features here that I thought could be utilized very well. I understand everybody is scared to use the arcade but the chat room feature is something that could be used by everybody instead of having multiple IM's open.

So please take the time to answer this thread. With your responses it will help Jason make it better and make this a great place to come and hang out but without the other members participating it never will work. It cant just be me and survivor girl(sorry, I dont know your name) posting all the time.

I wouldnt normally have ever complained but with it being the core group I selected to try to get it built up where new people would want to post and then nobody posts, yeah well what ya gonna do. There are several people in particular who led me to believe they would post a lot and have totally or nearly totally left.

i.e. Colin. We were going to go in on amg together and I am very very glad we didnt because he was supposed to be a big part of THIS forum and he has not even VISITED this forum in about 90 days.

I'm not going to go down the list or push people away by complainign yet more. Just disappinted in certain ones who said how much they were going to post. I would have ignored it if I wasnt so dependent on this group for new people. Five people led me to believe they would be very active and only 2 have come close to what is considered active for them.

The features are there because they are liked by tons of people on other forums. (and then I made some tweaks to them also). But talking is the main thing for a forum, then when people all become friends, it leads to them wanting to work with or play against each other in contests, arcade games, etc. But everyone comes here for 2 minutes then leaves. Never has anyone stayed in a topic tlaking back and forth with someone since months ago. Nobody even GOES to GD much anymore.

runhard and blue were trying to post a ton and frankly nobody here acted interested enough to even do a conversation with them. I don't blame them for leaving.

Anyway I appreciate everyone sticking around though, no matter how many posts. But topics arent going to pop up from invisible people and I can't make evry topic here.

Big shocker. Zero posts during the day today after two yesterday. And you wonder why I ever encouraged people to post mroe. I knew this was about to happen. But it's all cool, I've learned from it dont assume that ebcause a few people tell you something it will then happen. I'll somehow get some diff peeps.

I'm very tempted to close it down until I find people because this is pathetic and I would rather have zero posts because the place isnt open than have it with people I like being here and it still being zero either way.

hmm well yeah i think the reason most people dont post is because of school, sports, etc. so then at night, when there is no one on, there's nothing to cat about really. so i think that if we had more members, people would always be on at one point or another. lol

I do believe there is less time because of outside activities but according to Jason, members here are posting on AMG and neglecting this site. That would dispell the reason of school and other activities.

I do agree that we need new members but to get new members this site needs to be active so the guests can see there are some friendly people here and want to join. There dosent have to be somebody on at all times to make people want to post. If that is the case, Jason did Implement a chat room that is cool to use. I always thought a forum was to post some thoughts and then come back later to see responses. Otherwise everybody should just come here and use chat if they wanted instant contact.

I don't know who does or dosent. I am only going by what jason tells me and thats why he is disappointed in so many people. He never really specifies who and I only went there to defend him everytime he got banned for no reason.

yeah they would just bann him for nothing. one time i tried to get him from being banned. :v:

Hmm I dunno. Blue is the main one I referred to who left here totally for amg. And I just dont get it because who is there tot alk to there other than chad? So he would rather talk to Chad apparently. Even arch and others fdont post there now. lol

Anyway everyone can just post when they feel like it. I wouldnt have ever complained because it is really lame complaining about it. But really 1. we do need more people and 2. more current people posting at least a little. If I ever got a lot of members, then it wouldnt be noticable when people dont post for a while. The members here seem kinda burnt out on posting though because when there ARE a few on at the same time, they almost never stay and discuss anything with each other. Today Lynne and Aaron did, but usually people come and post a post and then leave.

I try to think of interesting topics, but members need to think of something because it looks weird with me making a lot of topics. lol

By the way, something very sad is that I just noticed the # of posts today is the most we've had in a day sicne September 5'th. That is just iunbelievable. It was mostly only me and you posting and even still it was the most posts in a day in the past almost FOUR months.

I know. It is really annoying that the main 2 who were supposed to help me keep the post count up just abandoned this place. But that's life. They obviously don't think I can get it as active as I want. I would be pretty satisfied with only 300 posts per day probably. Would prefer geting up in the 1,000 range though.

In the past 8 days there have been 222 posts, which is a lot since the main few left. Before that there were 221 posts in 22 days. So good job! (and wow, a lot of 2's there arent there?)

Still a long way from how it was earlier though. I see our record for an 8 day period is 729.
