Memphis is now officially ranked #4.

We play Gonzaga in 1 week and then Texas less than 1 week after that. As espn.com says, if we remain in the top 10 after those 2 games, we will remain there all season long.

And to be honest, I think we will have no trouble with either. Both are struggling and we have them both at home. We have a QUITE good chance of being ranked #1 or #2 after that Texas game.

19 hours until #4 Memphis vs. #8 Gonzaga on espn2. We are favored by 8 and 1/2 points. If we win this and beat Texas next week, we have a legit shot at not losing more than another game this season or possibly 0. Of course any upset can happen at any time, but actually even INCLUDING the gonzaga and Texas games, we will NEVER be an underdog again this season until possibly some time in the NCAA tournament. Every game we will be favored to win from now on. And we have been favored to win all thus far other than alabama and duke,k if I am not mistaken.

The teams who officially lost this week are now #2,3,4,6,7,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,18, and 19 I believe. Maybe more lower ones.

In RPI Memphis only went from 2 to 3 with their loss. In schedule they went UP a lot to 3. SO if you judge by that, we should move ahead of Uconn and Villanova and maybe be Duke, Florida, Memphis for the top 3 EVEN THOUGH we lost. BUT the way I see it, they will cheat us as usual and move us to 5 or 6.

Both polls were shaken a ton. We only moved down 1 spot to fifth in each poll.

Luckily instead of voters blaming Memphis' loss on memphis, they instead considered it Texas being a good team and moved texas up many slots to only a few places below us now.

Wisconsin is doing well and in good position in the poll now.

Four of the top eleven teams have all played Memphis already. We are 2-2 against top 11 teams and 11-0 against anyone under that, including a win against cincinnati who are 13-2.

Villanova and Uconn frankly shouldnt be ahead of us despite having only 1 loss. Our RPI is 3 and theirs is way lower than that. I am hoping cincy beats UCONN tonight and hopeffully Villanova loses at Texas Saturday. If both of those happen, we will be #3 next week. Actually and Duke may even lose this week to Maryland.

All top 25 teams play today except #24 North Carolina (who wont even be in the top 25 next week anyway after losing to a bad team this week).

#1,2, and 3 all have shots at losing today. We are 20 point favorites, but any game can be bad for any team, so hopefully we make sure to win. But anyway, so I am rooting against Duke, UCONN, and Florida today and for Memphis. If that all happened the way I want, then we would be #1 or #2 next week. Only way we wouldnt be #1 is if they keep Duke at #1 even if they take a loss.

The games I care about are all back-to-back. The games are at 12:30, 2, 4, and 6. my time!

lmao I root for Wisconsin since Cody likes them, but so many columns and articles are saying their loss yesterday was the biggest surprise not only of this seaosn but many seasons! lol They had won many MANy home games against top teams and then lost at home to north dakota state, who just moved from division 2 to division 1 and isnt even tournament eligible for 3 more years. lmao.

The polls are out and I am satisfied with them. Memphis even received a vote to be #1 for the first time in probably about 20 years.

UCONN is #1, Duke #2, and Memphis #3. Then on one poll Texas is #4 and Florida is #5 and then the opposite for those 2 on the other poll.

Frankly I can see both sides. If you go by win/loss records and RPI, Duke SHOULD be 1 place ahead of us. HOWEVER, they would never, I repeat N-E-V-E-R drop Memphis ONLY one place for losing to an unranked team!

By the way UCONN and Duke will yes WILL lose within 2-2 weeks of today guaranteed. I would bet money. Starting next week Duke has to go on the road against 3 great teams. Boston college, maryland, and North Carolina, while also playing Florida State at home, who barely lost to N.C. last night. UCONN has to face Pittsburgh, at Indiana, and Syracuse all in a row. Memphis has to play UAB this Thursday and they are barely below being in the top 25. Then we play them again in March. But otherwise there is not any other good team in Conference USA. So we have a quite legit chance of never losing again and maybe even getting the #1 OVERALL seed if we are careful.

ESPN sure is smart. I was trying to find out which coaches vote on the coach's poll and guess who voted for Memphis as #1. At the end of the poll where espn tells who votes, they freakin still list coaches from 2 or 3 years ago, and it is NOT correct because Huggins isnt even a coach anymore. lol

#5, #9, #11, #15 just all lost. #5 is Florida. Was set to go to #1 when duke lost and instead they now ahve lost 2 straight and may even fall out of the top 10! That is one thing people cant say about Memphis. We havent choked and lost to anyone bad. Even if we lose tomorrow (Thursday) that is a good team, despite being unranked.

And a team in our "crappy conference" is who beat #9 west virginia.

Best, funnest game of the YEAR. We played a team who only lost by 2 at Kentucky and we destroyed them by 33 points. Guys who hadn't scored all year scored, a guy who hasn't played much at all and is a forward got a 3 pointer sand scored 15 points. We had 4 people with double digit scoring and 1 with 9 points. The shortest player on the team was dribbling the ball to run the clock out to end the game and the fans kept chanting for him to shoot so all of a sudden he changed his mind, went all the way to the basket, did a layup as the horn sounded. Awesome awesome game.

And the announcers said we may be the OVERALL #1 seed in the NCAA tournament, not just "a" #1 seed.

We now play 3 straight road games. If we win those (against bad teams) then we should be ranked #1 because Duke and UCONN WILL lose within the next 2 weeks, I guarantee it.

#4 Texas is about to lose. Although it looks better for us when they and Duke win, Texas was doing so good, had the longest winning streak, and could have moved ahead of us soon when UCONN and Duke lose, even if we keep winning. SO now we get breathing room at #3 to where if UCONN and Duke both lose, Memphis SHOULD be #1.

Memphis wins by 10 after a ferocious run to start the second half.

UCLA lost at Washington.

Thus, Memphis is now the ONLY team in the country out of 334 teams to still be undefeated on the road. We are 1 of only 6 teams undefeated in conference also and Duke/Uconn will NOT stay undefeated in conference the whole year.

#1 UCONN vs. #4 Villanova tonight. The problem is if Villanova wins I bet they will move ahead of us. So I would then need Villanova to lose later in the week. Or UCONN to win then lose later in the week to west virginia.

Tennessee should be up to #7 or #8 tonight and Gonzaga is #5. We beat both of those teams.

Memphis wins by 39 and held the opponent to 10 first half points (6 of which were on layups where we screwed up).

the guy who plead guilty to marijuana possession today and was sentenced to 1 year probation had 13 points and 12 rebounds for us today. I believe both were his career highs.

We only made 3 3-pointers and 1 slam dunk and still won by 39 points.
