I need to dress for the 50's and I don't have a poodle skirt so I have NO idea what to wear.

for what and when? For some 50's day type of thing at school?

1950s were a good decade. I don't know much about the fashions; especially womens fashion. I usually think of things along the lines of the movie Grease. But here's a website with the stereotypes for 1950's fashions: Clickity. Hope that helps.

Poodle skirts are just the basic thing everybody would wear. I know they used to wear those nylon capris that are real tight and show off the ass real nice. I actually think they have come back into fashion. As for shirts they wore lots of blouses like those peasant blouses that are out now. Puffy shoulders cut thin downb the waist. thin material. The fall back would be just to wear a tight pair of jeans( they didnt wear baggy back then) with nice shoes and a tshirt. Maybe you can find a satin jacket to wear or somebodies varisty jacket to wear over the T.

If all else fails, you can always rent Grease and check out what they wore.
