There are NCAA and NIT Tournament contests in the betting area. I just now added the NIT type of bracket and you also pick the consolation game winner. I know most don't care about the NIT, but I made it anyway.

Opened the NCAA one abck up until tomorrow morning at game time of the first game as usual.

Too many games already played in the NIT so just me in that I guess. I will lower the jackpot in that one since it's lame with only me doing it.

I always thought of adding an underdog feature and now I see Yahoo did it. I wish I noticed it sooner to remind me to add one for this site.

In mine I am going to make points double if the seeds are bad enough. Like today's win for murray state would have doubled points, for example.

If anyone has other ideas, let me know.

Will standings for the ncaa tourney be updated daily or weekly?

Better than daily probably. I'll try to update them as the games are completed. I usually like keeping track of points closely to be sure it pays properly, but this time I'll just write the totals in notepad and pay out a bunch of games and if something looks suspicious then I'll look at the code.

Hopefully after years of using this I've got it paying properly anyway, but ya never know... there could have been some situations where there is still a major bug somewhere.

EDIT: eeyore's sports profile says she has -100 points when in reality she has 0. Total site points. So I guess I already found a bug, although an unimportant one.

EDIT2: Fixed that. So it shows properly. I wish I could get mroe use out of this system or start selling copies because I go tot rouble fixing a lot of bugs. Even though I only worked on this new version for 1 day I fixed almost 20 bugs.

EDIT3: I now fixed it where the latest contests will be listed first in those tables. For regular contests I ordered it by three fields. For bracket contests it's ordered by deadline only. The only problem is there may be a contest that hasn't ended which was added before the latest 5. So if you ever see all 5 sayign in progress then click the arrow to go view ALL contests to be sure there are no others.

All paid out properly. Aaron would be tied for first, but joined after that opening round game. I need to code it later to show it as not correct even though the correct team was picked, but late.

EDIT: There was a big bug in the NIT bracket. I made that as a separate set of functions so no shocker it had a bug. Only my two accounts even joined it though. And now it paid properly once fixed.

I dont understand how we picked over 50% correct but have negative points after the first day.

Because that's an actual point count tally to show what your point total for the site has done in it. Since it had a 100 point cost everyone started out at -100 net points.

I just found a huge bug. I discovered it when paying out NIT games. And it was present in the NCAA tournamnet game too.

For round 2 onward in NIT and from sweet sixteen onward in NCAA it was going to enter most game winners as "0" instead of their proper team number.

So had I not noticed and fixed it then it would have listed no winners for games and would not have paid anyone anything for most NCAA rounds.

Fixed it now. Somehow I misformatted some update txt. What I'm confused about is how it worked in 2009. I must have accidentally changed something since then.

Through the first 41 games it looks like most likely it will come down to my other account and Aaron's. But ya never know. All four still have a chance, but I have my entire elite eight still alive and Aaron has 7 of his alive, I believe. Or maybe all 8. I forget.

If I win at least it's better for my backup account to win where my admin account doesn't always win. I wish I could start getting like 20+ people joining these.

Through 49 picks it looks to me like my main account and eeyore's don't have much (if any) chance. And really Aaron would have to do mighty good to still win. I have all 8 elite eight teams still in for my backup account.

Ane xciting finish in the NIT Bracket Contest. Entering the quarterfinals my main account was winning by only 5 points. There were four matchups. Out of those four my maina ccount got all four wrong and the backup account got one of the four right. Since it was worth 50 points it made my backup account jump up at the end to win by 45 points since neither team can get any picks correct from this point forward.

Since only my accounts were in the contest I changed the jackpot from 5,000 + entry fees to only entry fees. So QUOTE=Jason will only get 200 points instead of 5,200. If more people would do these I wouldn't have to do annoying things such as that. Since it wasn't my main account I should have just elft it at 5,200 I guess since it really affects nobody.

For the NCAA Contest Aaron needs Kentucky to go to the National Title Game in order to win. If that happens then he could win by as low as 20 points and as much as 220 points. I can't win if Kentucky gets there. Otherwise I win no matter what. Well my backup account would.

Actually I just realized even if Kentucky does win I would still win if Duke wins against Baylor. So Aaron needs Baylor to go to the final four and kentucky to go to the national title game. That's the only way he can win.

If Michigan State wins against Tennessee it gives me some icing, but can't wrap it up as long as Baylor wins.

I noticed even my main account can still win if Wedt Virginia makes it to the title game.

I need to reconsider how many points to give for each round in the future because in reality I would say my backup account already deserves to win no matter what, as it is 8 correct points ahead of Aaron. That's a lot of extra correct picks to then have it wiped out by something as little as kentucky winning 2 games and baylor winning one. I dunno.

Aaron has been eliminated. And interestingly he was eliminated by a team who pushed my main account into second palce and striking distance.

Now all the marbles comes down to whether or not West Virginia can win one more game. If they do win one more game then my original bracket wins. If they lose then my backup account wins.

Pretty interesting how it's all played out even though it's only me who cares and barely anyone entered. lol

Now check this out. My backup account got both games correct again today.

So now the ONLY game that matters is Duke vs. West Virginia. If Duke wins then my backup account wins by 490 points. However, if West Virginia wins then this maina ccount comes from behidn to win BY TEN POINTS.

So basically it may all come down to a difference between a first round game. Had the backup account picked the play-in winner or one other first round game and then WVU wins it would have finished in a tie. Then to top that off the point totals picked were 78 and 80 so this all came down to extreme small margins. The tie breaker may have been tied itself.

My backup account won both contests. It's official in NIT and after Monday will be official in NCAA.
