There actually IS still a AAA Championship. However it's a 1 game thing rather than a series.

After SWEEPING the division series and league series the Memphis Redbirds (AAA club of the St. Louis Cardinals) head on to the AAA Championship game against the Durham Bulls (AAA club of the Tampa Bay Rays).

The game will be nationally televised on espn2 Tuesday, September 22'nd, 2009 at 7 P.M. ET.

What a way to lose... They were tied in the bottom of the 11'th inning and they gave up a leadoff double, when someone tried to bunt him to third we threw a wild pitch, we then walked that guy intentionally, then for some UNKNOWN reason the manager brought in a new pitcher and did not even intentionally walk the next guy to load the bases. The very FIRST pitch was another wild pitch to end the game!

Also the redbirds left 11 runners on base. Or maybe even 12. I forget. It was a great game other than that and the fact that another of their runs was due to the pitcher forgetting to look at the runner at third so someone scored from second on an infield hit. So we would have won before extras if not for that.
