Posted May 14, 200916 yr comment_11462 lol Some lady was on the local news here and said that she had money that she thought was counterfeit. The whole point of the story was that she got ripped off by being given fake bills. Well now someone (police or whoever is in charge of looking into this type of thing) noticed that she randomly mentioned that she "tried to deposit it". Apparently the way she worded it showed that she was trying to deposit it AFTER she knew it was counterfeit. So now a copy of the interview was obtained and they are considering charging her and she could face up to 10 years in prison! Now she is claiming she thought it was real when she tried to deposit it. Honestly in a way it's really ridiculous that she would be the one going to jail for trying to deposit money that was supposed to legitimately be hers. But this is a lesson that you have to bite the bullet and accept you were ripped off or YOU will be the one going to jail instead of whoever originally passed the bill.
