Posted March 19, 200916 yr comment_11322 It has officially been released, I believe. Just a note to anyone who is going to try it though, it's well known that many sites won't look proper in it for now until developers realize the changes they ened to make to have things appear properly. I may download it because it has a link on it to switch between 7 and 8.
March 21, 200916 yr Author comment_11330 I am now using this. Here are some early impressions: 1. Much faster than IE7. 2. It can be configured to look almost exactly like IE7. 3. Some sites, including this one, can be viewed in compatibility mode to look how it would be in IE7. 4. You can use a favorites bar where it's a toolbar with icons for some favorite sites (separate from your main favorites list) where all you do is click the icons just as you click the home icon in IE7 and go right to the sites without opening that favorite menu. 5. Many sites look MUCH different in IE7 and IE8. In IE8 fonts are different. Some are smaller and some are larger. Also things are arranged on pages differently on some sites. 6. Apparently it has a bug or mine is messed up because if I try to type something in the url bar which isn't in my history it crashed IE and won't let me go to the site. 7. Other things I haven't tried. And many small changes I have noticed. It's many times better than IE7 and by far the best IE yet. People who love bashing IE will find something to say bad about it, but it has a nice IE feel to it while having a lot of what firefox has. So far I like it much more than firefox. Just need to figure that bug out.
