Quite a few areas in the country have been having wintry weather lately. A lot of power has been lost in the northeast. Well now Memphis is finally possibly getting in on the act. We have an Ice Strom Warning for this afternoon, tonight, and tomorrow morning.

Usually when we have such watches and warnings here it does not materialize. However they changed the afternoon temps from low 30's to upper 20's so it may really end up happening now.

We had a big ice storm in 1994 or 1995 which knocked out power for some areas for 2 weeks. Luckily it only knocked it out where I was living for about a few hours.

Cool. I pretty much ended up with 9-10 and then I found a drift in the yard that was 22. Ton of snow for this far South. It's the most we've had in over 40 years, but yet the actual airport only got 3 inches so the official amount for the city of Memphis is not even close to a record. but for other areas around ehre such as where I live we got tons more than them.

I noticed a chart showing how much snow you get from x amount of water content at different temperatures. Had the temperature been about 12 or so degrees colder that day we would have had 18 inches nstead of 9.

Most years we don't get much here since we're so far south, but yeah... florida would obviously get less. lol Some years we get none at all though. This is the most snow we've had at one time since I have even been alive.

The temp was in the 70's two days before all that snow. lol And the past couple days it was in the 70's again also. Thenh we were supposed to get ice yesterday, but we didn't get any.

Normally trust me we don't get much here. I am normally the one thinking other people are lucky getting snow. lol
