I am going to release a few features at a time as long as they are smaller features rather than waiting a long time until I add a ton before naming it a new version.

I have already added a few new features and fixed a lot of things since the release of You Review Version 4.0.0. I wanted to redo the stats page and the profile pages before changing the version number, but decided to go ahead and announce the changes now and I will update the stats page and profiles to display some of the new stats being tracked when I do get a chance.

The following are the changes between 4.0.0 and 4.0.1:

Bug Fixes

*More than 30 bug fixes. These included some quite major issues which would have caused a lot of problems. Now I have thoroughly tested most things. While there are always bugs in any program, I believe I have knocked out a lot of main ones.

Favorites/Collection Custom Field

*If the admin decides to, he or she can set it up where when you add a product as a favorite you can fill out some additional information. The same can be done for the Owned List (a.k.a. Collection) also. I do not see a reason to add it for the wish list, however.

*An example of a use for this is how I am currently using it. I have it set where when you add Mario Kart as a favorite you can tell your favorite course or if you add it to your owned list you can tell your friend code.

Favorites/Collection/Wish List In Common

*Redid all three of those pages to look a little better and use those grephics for links.

*My examples from the above section come into play here. These are the pages where you can see EVERYONE who has the same product on their list. Well if the product has a custom field, there is a column showing everyone's answer. So on the Mario Kart Owned page, for example, you could get everyone's friend codes and add them on your mario kart game. On the Mario Kart favorites page you can see everyone's favorite course to race on!

*PLEASE be serious when you fill those fields out. I started to not add it yet, as I do not have time to set up edit/delete/report functions at the moment, so I am trusting that it will be used maturely where I don't have to go into the database to delete fake rows and punish people. Thank You.

Request System

*Now you can force the person to have x number of reviews already written by them in order for them to qualify to fill your request.

Administration

*Now when something is reported it goes into a table of logs. Then once per day a task sends me a PM if rows are waiting for approval. Also my link to my reviews control panel is red at all times if anything needs approval. Now I don't have to be constantly PMed, as the reasons for reporting will go into logs and be shown on the take action page rather than a pm.

*On my control panel I have links to full tables of each specific section. (only the 10 latest rows for each section are on my main page).

*Made the deal reporting section like the other reporting sections. It had been different, which made no sense.

Other Miscellaneous Changes

*The nav bar and some other sections say "You Review" rather than "Reviews".

*The location file has been updated where there are more descriptions for where people are browsing trhe system.

*In your control panel for the site the review setting section has a link to make a request and that section is called You Review now also.

*Language bit changes here and there.

Coming Soon

*Many new features will be added at some time in the future. Soon I will update the stats page and profile page. I have many other ideas which are unique and I will not go into them currently, as I don't like announcing too much ahead of time.

Bugs?

*As usual please report any bugs in the bug tracker by clicking the bugs link at the top of any page (under the logo). If you find bugs I don't know about I could give points to those who discover them. But please realize this system is being used live, so don't do fake reviews, fake rows, etc... Please properly use the system and also don't plagiarize or you could be banned from the system.

I forgot to mention that back in 4.0.0 I added a feature where you can compare extra rating type products. In other words, you can compare ALL songs, not limited to only looking at one cd's songs.

Example: http://www.gottalk.com/index.php?autocom=r...tings&id=20 See? You can thus find the best rated songs from ALL songs or you could select a different cd in the dropdown to sort one single cd.

Similarly, you can look at an entire root category's list of products and sort THOSE by such things as vocals, lyrics, etc...

Example: http://www.gottalk.com/index.php?autocom=r...atings&id=2

See in the ebginning this compoennt was set up in a way where, for example, you could only look at a list/ranking of one GROUP's cds. That was due to the way the subcategories were set up. I didn't like that you couldn't look at how ALL products of the same type are ranked, so I added that feature.

Where are the links to these features? If a category allows for extra ratings (such as songs) it will have the link down there at the bottom of the table. All categories which list products also have a link to the root comparison.

So for instance: http://www.gottalk.com/index.php?autocom=r...wcat&cid=62 See at the bottom of that table? That is where the links are. On normal categories which don't have something indifivual to rank, such as songs, there will only be the root comparison link.

Going to add some little final touches and finish something I started. I will be done later today. Since I only have a tiny bit more to do, I may add somethign else too, but not sure.

Then after today I need to work on the sports system to have it more ideal for when I set up the bowl contest for next week.
