Posted November 22, 200817 yr comment_10890 As usual Memphis is being talked down in basketball. They definitely have more holes in their team than last year, but they have some top recruits, are ranked #12 in the country and are 4-0 on the season. Their next game is the championship game of the Puerto Rico Shoot Out. It's being broadcast on espn2 at 7:30 P.M. ET Sunday evening.
November 24, 200817 yr Author comment_10910 They lost their game last night by 5 points thanks to a technical called on the assistent coach and tons of missed free throws. I knew this year's team couldn't be as special as last year's, but I thought there would still be a "chance" of winning it all. I guess anything's possible, but it currently looks like an Elite Eight would be a successful season. I want the to win 34 games though where it will break the record for most wins in a 3 season span. Last year they already set the single season record.
November 26, 200817 yr Author comment_10916 lol. I just realized Memphis has to win every single game remaining in the season AND the national championship if we want to beat the NCAA record for wins in a season (which was set by us last year).
November 27, 200817 yr Author comment_10920 UAB should have beat Oklahoma last night and experts say there are 4 teams that could be very good in the conference this season and that Memphis won't win all conference game like they did the past couple years. Also they have been trying to get into the SEC or some other conference, but it never ends up happening and they didn't let us go to the Big East which came up to bite them by us getting this good. By the way, the past 3 years we tied the NCAA record for total wins with 104. If we can win 34 this year we would break the 3 year total by having 105 and I'm sure that would easily beat the 4 year total also. Also no team has ever won 30 or more games 4 straight seasons, if I am not mistaken. And UCLA and Memphis both have a chance at that.
