Both candidates did a nice job int he lone 2008 Vice Presidential debate. On the surface anyway. In reality I would say Palin did a lot better because several people double checked comments Biden made and Karl Rove found 10, yes 10, lies that Biden told during the debate. Varying from small ones to actually lies that McCain voted for things he really did not vote for. Palin avoided questions minorly here and there, but she showed without a doubt that people's opinions of her being dumb and uninformed were unfounded. She made it obvious enough that she can handle herself and knows the issues to where now she is not a negative for his campaign anymore.

At this point Obama has a fairly hefty lead if polls are to be believed. So we will see if this turns out to be as close of a race as once thought. My guess is that this debate did indeed help McCain because some people may have considered it a big deal if Palin had messed up and I think this debate may have eased their minds.
