The Wii 2 is rumored to be released in 2011 with high definition support.

By that time ps3 and xbox will have thier own versions of the motion sensor remote.

well technically, the PS3 already has a motion sensitive remote, it just doesnt have the IR capability of the Wii to detect where you're pointing. but, someone could feasibly create a PS3 sports game that simply uses the motion detection aspect of it for like baseball or something.

but any future consoles HAVE to have HD capability if they want to actually corner the market, you know? Since the Xbox 360 and the PS3 both support HD (PS3s with HDMI, 360 with HDMI on elites), the only thing keeping the Wii in the market is the remote. Once the PS3 remote is more utilized, the Nintendo will see a reduction of market share, especially if they release a new version that doesn't have HD support. I mean, I know Nintendo wanted to focus more on the size of the console itself and the interactivity of the games in their development instead of supporting technology such as HD video, especially since most of their games are based on cartoonish graphics. But yeah, they just NEED HD graphics if they want to stay competitive with Microsoft and Sony in the future. To be honest, I'm surprised they didn't even have HD support in the Wii.
