The 2008 playoofs have the following matchups:

1. Dodgers vs. Cubs

2. Brewers vs. Phillies

3. Red Sox vs. Angels

4. White Sox vs. Rays

In day 1, the Dodgers, Phillies, and Red Sox all won.

I would put some of this (and football matchups) up for betting if I knew Aaron would bet. At the moment only I make bets with the system and I do not want to simply pad my points total with nobody else trying for points.

I predict the cubs, phillies, angels, and rays will win these series.

I then predict Cubs vs. Angels in the World Series, with the Cubs winning it all.

I am not confident on it though. And there are many good stories which could unfold. I wouldn't mind seeing Mannyd estroy his old team to win it all. I wouldn't mind seeing the Rays come from nowhere last year to win it this year. Same with Brewers. I also would not mind an all Chicago World Series. The only teams I really have no reason to want in the world series are the Phillies and Angels, but I chose the Angels anyway because they do have some good pitching, the best closer, some speed at the top, good defense, and Teixeira.

All four series are now 2-0, with the red sox, rays, dodgers, and phillies all within a game of moving on to the next round.

As far as who I "want" to win, I think I want the Rays and Dodgers to be in the world series and the Rays to win it all. I am not against any team in the playoffs other than the Red Sox though. And a tad against the White Sox I suppose.

J.D. Drew, the player I always have said is a great power-hitter, won tonight's game with a homerun off of the star Angels clsoer. Aaron always made fun of Drew, but I knew he could hit it as far as any player. :)

The next round is set:

Dodgers vs. Phillies

Red Sox vs. Rays

The Angels made some bad decisions in the ninth inning to cost them the series. I knew they were going to squeeze on 2-0. But he didn't make sure to get the bunt down. Then in the bottom of the ninth I would have walked Kotsay intentionally. They almost got torched by him by not doing that. Once he was out, I would have either intentionally walked Lowrie or I would have made the first pitch out of the strike zone. Shields pitched three straight pitches right down the middle. One was a double, the next was a very hard lineout, and the third was the game-winning single.

Torre showed his bad managerial decision-making skills once again. He's a good manager, but he doesn't get it done well enough to win it all anymore becasue in the past he had enough talent to overcome his shortcomings. He should have known to bring in Broxton to face Victorino.

I thought it was cool Stairs won it though. I was thinking as he batted "he used to be great at homering" and then boom he homered to win it. :)

My two teams I bet on in the betting center ehre are both ahead on their series. I wanted L.A. and Boston to be in the WS, but I picked neither.

For a baseball fan, Aaron sure is posting a lot in here. lol

J.D. Drew once again was Boston's hero as they came back from down 7-0 in the 7'th to win 8-7.

I do not believe they will come back to win the series. I believe Tampa Bay will win game 6. If it goes to Game 7 it is kind of a tossup though since Lester can be good. Really game 6 is a tossup also if Beckett is himself. But I think TB will get the job done.

At least they will get to take care of business at home. But really TB is playing with fire since it's not easy to continue beating Boston due to their high pauroll and they blew their chance to take care of it tonight.

Unfortunately I think the red sox are going to the world series. The Rays had their chances and blew them and I think it's more likely that Lester does good tonight than it is that TB's pitcher will.

I thought to myself all along it's a huge fluke that TB's bullpen was "one of the best" this year. Look who they had! An aging and hurt Percival and then guys such as Wheeler who can't throw the ball over 90 mph.
