The New York Mets fell apart to end a "sure thing" season without a playoff berth. Second straight year that the Florida Marlins dealt the blow to them on the final day of the season.

The main reason I was wanting the Mets not to make it was because I wanted the significance of Billy Wagner to be magnified because 1. he is udnerappreciated and 2. losing him ruined one of my fantasy teams. :)
