The U.S. ban on off-shore drilling was lifted by President Bush. Is that a good or bad thing?

Many say it will lower gas prices almost immediately due to it being shown that the U.S. has a lot of reserves it can use itself.

Obama claims it's not a good thing because it will "prolong" using the bad source of energy.

I definitely agree we have to get off of oil, but in the present time it's still much better to be using our own resource potential than depending on others obviously!
