Sports Betting 3.0.0 has been released.

Tournaments

1. The system itself debuts on the day the NCAA Tournament announced its field of 65.

2. This is the only setup I know of where you pick the winner of the play in game also.

3. Stats page to let you know where you stand.

4. It can be used for any field of 65 tournament. It doesn't have to be for the NCAA Tournament only.

5. Receive points per correct pick and also the winner gets a jackpot. A perfect bracket would receive a large point total bonus.

6. View your bracket. It is a lot of information to have in a table, so I may change it to look different later, but just wanted it done in some shape or form currently.

7. This took 1,100 lines of coding for this one part of the Sports Betting System and I have not done the payout function yet or a function to allow you to view others' brackets. So that should be done in the next few days.

Bug Fixes

1. Several bug fixes, as usual.

Future Plans

1. Fantasy sports content including a daily game to pick which of several players will have the best day.

2. Tips area for matchups. You would either pay points or maybe be in a certain user group to be able to read tips for matchups. I think this is a cool idea because I may, for example, point out a trend I notice with a team or maybe something someone else informed me of.

3. Skinning and bug fixing.

4. User Group Permissions.

5. Users submit matchups and if I approve them, memebrs can bet on theirs.

6. Sports Trivia Section.

7. User created Tournaments.

8. Other cool features. Stay tuned!

Wow, wow, and wow.

Like I said, this tournament addon had taken me 1,100 lines of coding. Well tonight/this morning alone I just put in 2,500 more rows JUST.FOR.THE.PAYOUT.FUNCTIONS. So to pay out the points I had to do over twice as much coding as to make the bracket system itself.

So that means this bracket section is now close to 4,000 lines alone and the whole sports betting system as a whole is under 6,000 lines. So this is 2/3 of the file! And the file is now quite a bit larger than the review system file!

I still have more to add too. Now I am worried I am getting the file too big for comfort and still haven't added the fantasy sports section or other things. lol

Note to myself on what I need to do after my flb draft tonight:

1. Templates and hidden inputs for the pay form.

2. The actual jackpot/perfect payout on the last rung of the payout function.

3. Look through things to try to be sure I didn't cause a bug.

4. Do a test bracket and pay out to be sure it works properly.

5. Show a winners bracket.

I may wait about #5. Wow the enormity of this is becoming mind boggling. It's not that it's hard, but it's hundreds of rows needed for certain areas. I could do it with much fewer rows, but it would be risky.

I got the payout function to work properly. I also made it where once an entry deadline passes, you can view picks of other people by clicking on their name on the main page for that bracket contest.

Before I change the version number I am either going to have the page with your brackets distinguish between incorrect, correct, and undetermined selections and/or show the winners of matchups on the main brackets page. Also going to fine tune a little then call it eiter 3.0.1 or 3.1.0.
