October 16, 200718 yr comment_8520 This was the most interesting figure. "Just working full-time would appear to be beneficial in preventing depression. The overall rate of depression for full-time workers, 7 percent, compares with the 12.7 percent rate registered by those who are unemployed."
October 16, 200718 yr comment_8523 With the results being within 5.7% of each other it could also be partly atributed to random factors. I tend to believe it is a little less likely to be depressed if you work (me working on this site so many hours lately has been exhausting, but has made me feel better actually), but how likely it is to feel better and the degree to which they feel better is largely dependant on the person. I would venture to say that the longer a person does sit around doing nothing the more the likelihood increases that they will indeed get depressed though.
