I will be updating this list as Rivals.com reveals the remainder of its preseason rankings. They are a very well known site for predictiong college sports and keeping up with recruiting. Thus far all but 3 teams have been named in their top 64. The last three remaining are memphis, UCLA, and North Carolina. So we shall see where Memphis ends up being ranked. We already have been ranked #1 by both cbssports.com and ESPN.

Some notes: Even Butler and Arkansas are ranked better than last year's #1 seeds Ohio State and national champs Florida. Only Memphis and UCLA keep getting #1 or #2 seeds each year regardless of who they lose becuase they have such great recruiting. Even Conference USA has another team ranked better than Florida; UAB. Duke is way down at #16 to start the season. Memphis faces the #6, #9, #10, and #12 teams this year so nobody can whine about our "weak schedule". We even play GHonzaga and then UAB twice for 3 more top 40 teams. Southern Miss is barely out of the top 40 and also we may play Kentucky in a tournament. Our schedule is definitely going to be #1 nonconference in the nation. Hopefully a couple teams in conference will surprise and be ranked well.

I figured they would put North Carolina ahead of us even though the ACC is not supposed to be very good this year and we will have the #1 nonconference schedule. But it's cool. Being preranked #2 in the country is fine. So we are #2 on 1 preseason poll and #1 on the other 2. I just hope when the real polls come out we're #1 becuase we have only been #1 for 1 week in school history.
