August 16, 200718 yr Author comment_8319 RHP Roger Clemens has been suspended five games for intentionally throwing a pitch at Alex Rios on Tuesday. Clemens will simply bump his start back a day or two, showing once again that suspensions are usually meaningless for pitchers. Pending an appeal, the suspension is set to begin Friday. Manager Joe Torre was also suspended for one game.
August 16, 200718 yr comment_8322 That suspension started LAST friday. And teah i was thinking about it a few days ago and how the only way a pitcher being suspended can hurt much is if they suspend them 9 games where they miss a start.
