I upgraded Gallery to 2.2 RC2. I thought the release candidate version would be stable enough, but it is not. lol Basically the only way you're going to get to people's photos (until it is fixed) is click their name to view their profile, click the gallery tab, and click the "view all ip.gallery files" link. Or you can click on "my albums" in the member bar of any page or go through "my controls" or direct links.

Long story short, you can't get to the pictures by simply clicking on categories and albums right now. It even says 0 images are there and it does not show anything in the latest images strip on the gallery index page.

This problem should be fixed pretty soon... I hope.

Some new features in Gallery 2.2:

1. A button to make a photo your avatar.

2. Subscribe to categories or albums where you will be PMed when there are new images.

3. lightbox effect- instead of full size images opening in a new window it will stretch it via lightvbox effect. Very cool.

4. Layout changes.

5. Bug fixes.

Some other things changed ehre and there.

Gallery should work pretty well now after I upgraded it to RC3 and I did a few workarounds.

If there IS a problem, post a bug report.

Look at that layout (in the black skin only right now). I changed all of that myself and I love it honestly. You can see the regular layout on the other skins, but my changes are on the black skin. I like it much better with the tables below it and without those duplicate buttons above and below the photo strip.

Some other notes:

1. The subscribe button for an image will PM you when new comments are there.

2. The subscribe button for an album or a category will PM you when new IMAGES are uploaded. So you can get PMs when someone you like has uploaded a new image.

3. Notice the next and previous links under the image (to right of it in other skins, but I am going to change all skins to look like black one becuase I like what I did). Also I put all buttons in that same row wheras normally they are in different rows and it is confusing where to find things becuase of it.

4. Click the image for lightboxing effect.

5. The photostrip next and previous buttons work with ahax, so it flips through the album with NO page changes. Very cool.

6. There are now bbcode links for easily linking to the image, having it in different formats, etc...

7. The favorite button adds the images to your favorites area of "my controls".

The only problem left as far as the "look" is somehow I haven't been able to move that rating button to the center and I haven't figured out how to change the alt text for some of the images. Oh and obviously those buttons on the left need to be redone to match the ones on the right.

Irt has now been officially updated to 2.2.0. So it is now a supported version.
