well I already knew about Prior but we'll see how he does in spring training today. And Kerry is already back with the team, and threw 90 pitches the other day. Heck, thats more than Prior so maybe its not such a disaster. Too bad for Carlos sucking the big one in the Venezuela/DR WBC game. That was kind of hard to watch. I hate it when he gets all wound up like that, he can't focus. But I love him anyway...

So I thought my first post should be me venting over Kerry Wood having another surgery. This time it's on his knee - which is says doesn't even bother him when he pitches - that he's having arthoroscopic work done on. Supposedly it'll be two week recovery time, but by then his arm strength will have gone down and he'll have to throw thirty five simulated games, and then do minor league stuff for a week or four. Its gonna be August again until we see him, I swear. I'm glad their being proactive about it, instead of just the 'suck it up and deal' they tried with his shoulder last season. BUT STILL. This is SO not how I wanted to start this season. Although Prior is healthy so it was only a matter of time until the Prior-and-Wood-can't-be-healthy-at-the-same-time law of nature went into effect. Why? WHY? At least I have Derrek Lee.
