  1. The A's traded Nick Swisher to the Chicago White Sox for three minor leaguers.
  2. Torre is as nutty as ever. He said he isn't choosing sides between Clemens and his ex-trainer, yet then he later said Clemens "is proud and likes to do the right thing". Hmmmm I wonder whose side he is taking. So stupid, but hey that's why the Yankees couldn;t win more world series. His weird decisions and dishonesty.
  3. lol Shows how stupid sites are in general now. They leave stories up barely at all then they get rid of them. It's ridiculous.

    That's a John Kerry answer.
  5. Cool. And it's about time someone posted in here. Look how many in a row were my own posts. lol
  6. By the way did you know the horsecollar tackles are legal in college football? Anyway yeah some teams have had even bowl wins or tournament wins "taken away" years later. lol
  7. That sucks. Always rare, but occasionally it does happen in other sports too. Especially in basketball I seem to hear sometimes that players collapse and die.
  8. Eh, well honestly they should have had to forfeit that one. It really surprised me all along that the NFL apparently doesn't even care if you admit to cheating. In college sports teams have had PAST seasons' wins taken away when they found out YEARS later they cheated. I guess professionals are allowed to be cheaters, just not collegiate athletes. lol

Aaron always says he can't stand the Patriots, but I am interested to see how sweet he thinks it is. lol
  10. 11-0 One more win would give us sole possession of our second best start in team history. In the mid 80's we started a season 20-0. A lot of national people probably don't even realize how great Memphis (then called Memphis State) has been over the years and they think Calipari coming turned us into a great basketball school. We already were one, but then hit bad times for about 5 years. Some former or current pros from here were: Keith Lee, Penny Hardaway, Lorenzen Wright, David Vaughn, Bedford (forget his first name for some reason), Elliott Perry, Darius Washington, Rodney Carney, Dajuan Wagner, Cedric Henderson, Antonio Burks, Shawne Williams, Earl Barron. Then some who WERE coming here but went straight to the pros instead were Amare Staudemire, Quintell Woods, and several others. Thaddeus Young is from the Memphis area I believe also. Anyway we beat #17 Arizona by 13 1 game after beating #4 Georgetown by 14.

Well we have Yankees who use steroids, cheat during games, and other various things. Now we have a Yankee kill somone while drunk driving. Jim Leyritz.
  12. Mark Prior signed a 1 year contract with the Padres.
  13. Umm that link only goes to the NCAA front page. But anyway both of those games have passed and Memphis won both of them and are 10-0. This week the ONLY game involving 2 ranked teams is Arizona at Memphis. This is our followup game to then #4 Georgetown as we play some huge games. In RPI Arizona is #1 and Memphis is #2. Obviously Memphis deserves the #1 ranking on the AP and Coaches Polls over North Carolina who has played nobody and still almost lost several times. Memphis blew out Georgetown, beat USC, beat UCONN, beat Oklahoma. and has a better RPI!
  14. Memphis blew out the #4 team in the country and it is now "possible" one of the polls would leap us over North Carolina on Christmas Eve.

    Few days ago and today: 67/100 64/100 60/100 74/100
  16. I don't know. I see both sides. But it still annoys me they did it. And I started not liking them bak when Smith and others were on ther ebecuase of all of the legal incidents they constantly were having.
  17. So much for Willis to Mets. Signed a 3 year deal with the Tigers.
  18. Point is, that one TIME it affected his performance. And he can't "know" whether he would have done better or worse without the one cycle. The whole point is hhe is swearing before God something that nobody can even kinow for sure. And you and nobody else have no clue what subtle changes can take place that scientists and doctors have not found. Just like the whole deal where scientists keep aging the Earth at different ages. This is like if one of them would have "sworn before God" that the Earth was x years old and now more data shows they would have been wrong.
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=3159983 Now I guess he won't announce some of the Memphis games I was hoping he would announce. He should make it back just in time to do the Memphis vs. Tennessee Game Day game though.
  20. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071218/ap_on_...77KfczHy6gE1vAI Honestly this is one reason i haven't been too into the NFL becuase it just seems to have more than it's share of criminals and players who support sriminal activity. That is also what got me started hating the cowboys years ago. I've just stopped being 100% against them since the main players I disliked are not even on there anymore.
  21. Brian Roberts admits he used steroids once. Then he "swore before God" that steroids have played no part in his achievements. If you've used them once you can't "know" they "never" made a difference in productivity. lol
  22. Jason replied to Guy Guyerson's topic in Baseball
Honestly I don't see how they can ban steroids and not ban eye surgery. Both are giving the athlete something they weren't born with.
  23. Memphis is 8-0 for only the fourth time since World War II. We play #4 Georgetown in 1 week.

Bob Feller's opinion of Clemens: "I don't think he'd get my vote," Feller said by telephone. "He was a great pitcher, but I don't like liars. I saw the whole press conference, and there should be consequences."
  25. Already mentioned those deals, other than the particulars with the players nobody cares about. As for Edmonds, anyone who pays him is just being suckered in. He ahs nothing left.
