Well Rick Ankiel has 3 homers in 3 games since being called up from Memphis. He is doing great and he was killing the ball at a minor league game I went to a couple weeks ago also.

I am posting this within 1 minute of Bonds becoming the new baseball homerun king. In fact if he could get a triple he would hit for the cycle too.

ok I am setting up a unique type of league. I dont know if it will be only people from here because none of you even come here anymore.................. But anyway I could charge as little as $10 if it is a 10 team league. In all honesty, my league would be awesome if it had 20+ though becuase I am going to use wya less roster slots if I could get that many. So thus I could charge only 5 bucks if I could somehow find 20. This guy Paul said he will be in it, but I dunno anyone else yet. I am going to make things doable by owners, including trade vote most likely, rather than me having any control. It would be much better if people would pay $20 to get a cash prize I cou…

Barry Bonds has now tied Hank Aaron for the all-time homerun record with a no doubt shot to the opposite field.

So I thought my first post should be me venting over Kerry Wood having another surgery. This time it's on his knee - which is says doesn't even bother him when he pitches - that he's having arthoroscopic work done on. Supposedly it'll be two week recovery time, but by then his arm strength will have gone down and he'll have to throw thirty five simulated games, and then do minor league stuff for a week or four. Its gonna be August again until we see him, I swear. I'm glad their being proactive about it, instead of just the 'suck it up and deal' they tried with his shoulder last season. BUT STILL. This is SO not how I wanted to start this season. Although Prior is health…

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2957640 MINNEAPOLIS -- Buddy Bell chose family over baseball on Wednesday, resigning as manager of the last-place Kansas City Royals effective at the end of the season. An emotional Bell, who will turn 56 on Aug. 27, announced the decision before Kansas City's game against the Minnesota Twins. He will join the Royals' front office in 2008 as a senior adviser to general manager Dayton Moore.

The Rockies first base coach, Glenallen Hill, is wearing a helmet now after seeing that another coach died from being hit by a line drive Sunday in a minor league game in Arkansas. I liked Glenallen Hill. He was a good player. I didn't even realize he was a coach.

I deleted the fantasy section and moved its topics here where it would not be confusing where to post things like this. Gary Sheffield took batting practice and may be back in the lineup in a week or so.

Tle all-star games kind of get boring to me now becuase there never seems to be much action in them. Also I was thinking.... it really makes no sense to have an all-star game half way through a season. A lot of guys' final numbers will be so different that the roster would be totally different at the end of the season. I guess considering how long the season is, it still is a huge deal to have great numbers at this point too, however.

Ken Griffey, Jr. has a pair of dingers today to go ahead of Mark McGwire on the all-time list. I own him and Arod in a league Aaron says I suck in power in.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070110/ap_on_...hall_of_fame_31 Mark McGwire was nowhere near voted into the HOF. Ripken and Gwynn made it in. At least 6 people did vote for Canseco, so that shows I am not alone in thinking he should be in.

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AuSt...p&type=lgns Barry Bonds tested positive for speed, but claims he did not receive it from Mark Sweeney. I think this pretty much seals it, no HOF for Bonds, just like none for McGwire. And not many will consider Bonds the greatest homerun hitter, despite whatever numbers he ends up with.

Six weeks after he was fired by Florida, Girardi won the NL honor Wednesday for keeping the rookie-laden Marlins in contention nearly all season. Jim Leyland took the AL award after a quick turnaround with the Detroit Tigers. A rookie skipper himself, Girardi beat out Willie Randolph of the New York Mets by a comfortable margin to become the first Manager of the Year with a losing record. "I don't know if vindication is a good word, just because as a manager, you want to manage," Girardi said. He received 18 of 32 first-place votes and totaled 111 points in balloting by the Baseball Writers' Association of America. Randolph got eight first-place votes and 81 points. "…

Webb Recieved 15 of the 32 First Place votes. The only truly awful choice would have been Trevor Hoffman, who received 12 first-place votes and finished second with 77 points, 26 behind Webb. Carpenter was third with two first-place votes and 63 points. Oswalt received three first-place votes, but because he was left off 19 ballots, he finished with 31 points. Also receiving votes were Carlos Zambrano (six points), Billy Wagner (four), John Smoltz (three) and Takashi Saito (one).
