When in the world is the first REAL game of 2008? CBS' site is confusing. It says games are played Tuesday and Wednesday morning in Japan and is acting as if they are real games. But then it says the season starts March 30'th! Either way this is the first year I EVER remember the season starting on a weekend OTHER than college basketball's final four weekend. Every year Opening Day itself is the exact same date as the National Championship. This year opening day is the day after the Elite Eight is completed!

On sports radio they are talking about some list on espn.com where some guy told who the top 50 baseball players will be in the next 5 years. The radio commentator does not agree with a lot of it, such as Longoria being rated even higher than Ryan Howard and Prince Fielder! He also mentioned that the reason Longoria is being sent to the minors is that the Rays do not want to have to go to arbitration one year sooner than they will have to if they leave him in AAA for now. Cheapies. edit: lol he rated zimmerman at 6 overall and cano at 11 overall. Then he has fielder 40 and howard 45. lmao. This announcer is dumbfounded by it. Braun is below cano and zimmerman als…

The players union is "looking into why" Bonds has not be signed. I hate their union so much. Like a team HAS TO sign that cheater. lol They sure didn't investigate into why Canseco wasn't signed when his final season he hit near .300 with almost 20 homers and even a few steasls. In half a season he did that, so a full season he still had potential for .300 with 35 homers.

I think pitch counts are stupid. Different players can handle more pithces than others and no set amount is going to be right. A 100 pitch count is not going to magically prevent injuries. In fact look how many injuries still occur. Lasorda agrees with me and he is the best manager to ever manage the Dodgers. Better than that Torre guy they now have.

  12. Home run champ Barry Bonds tested positive for steroids in November 2000, according to a court papers filed Thursday by federal prosecutors in the perjury case against Bonds. The legal filing says investigators produced a document showing "Barry B" tested positive for anabolic steroids that November. When investigators asked Bonds about the test, he denied taking steroids. Federal prosecutors say Bonds was lying. They also say he lied when he denied using testosterone and other performance enhancers provided by his trainer, Greg Anderson. The court documents were filed by U.S. Attorney Joseph Russoniello in response to Bonds' motion to dismiss the perjury case. Bonds…

George Mitchell's results from his steroids probe will be released today AND name names of bnig stars. The first name leaked is Roger Clemens. Surprise, surprise Jose Canseco was right yet again when he named Roger. Edit: The list has now been revealed. As if I didn't have enough reasons to dislike the Yankees, more than a dozen of the 75 players listed played for the Yankees in the past or present. I am just glad that team is finally getting what it deserves, having lost their manager and now having so many players named as steroid users. The list also has players such as Rick Ankiel becuase it is listing players who used HGH, not only the steroid users. Here are so…

http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/fantasy/story/10582944 This is CBS' 2008 Rankings. I think Vlad and Braun are way too high. Good luck to people taking them that early. Braun will probably have less of everything this year than he did in a partial season last year. People are too quick to jump on young players' bandwagons. And Vlad pretty obviously was on steroids and couldn't find a way to homer last season. It is also interesting that Carpenter is nowhere on the top 300. I guess I will consider him an easy pickup for a #5 starter and if he becomes himself again he would be the biggest steal by far. Even Harden is barely in the top 200. I think in at least 1 leagu…

FT. MYERS, Fla. -- Hall of Fame outfielder Kirby Puckett has suffered a stroke and is undergoing surgery, the Minnesota Twins announced Sunday. The Twins said Puckett, a longtime star center fielder for the team, suffered the stroke Sunday morning at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was transported to Scottsdale Memorial Hospital, then airlifted to Scottsdale Osborne Hospital, where he is undergoing Neo Surgery. Perhaps the most popular player in franchise history, Puckett played his entire career with the Twins (1984-95) and led them to two World Series titles. Despite having his career cut short by irreversible retina damage to his right eye, Puckett was inducted …
