Guess we can crown Guy as NHL champ. Since we did not have the Stanley cup winner. For me go Chicago.....

  2. Started by iceman559,

Anyone else on this board notice how the officiating in the NHL is slowly deteriorating to the level commonly seen in other sports such as the NBA? I couldn't help but realize how bad it was in the final two minutes of the Coyotes @ Red Wings game on Tuesday night. There were three very bad calls that night: 6:26 of the 2nd Period - 17 Fedoruk - 2:00 - Goaltender Interference What happened here is that Fedoruk was screening Osgood in front of the crease in the Detroit zone. Osgood, evidently angry that Fedoruk was doing a good job, took his stick and shoved Fedoruk's legs out from under him, causing him to fall backwards and make contact with Osgood. The officials p…

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090107/ts_af...fbeat_newsmlmmd lol that punishment mentioned further down in the article from when a table tennis player kicked a chair is funny. In the U.S., sports players can commit crimes and get away with it and yet in China kick a chair and go to boot camp. lol

A lot of people were tlaking down University OF Memphis' athletics as a whole back when the basketball team was #1 and claimed that was all they had. Well I already mentioned the cheerleaders and dance teams. Of course the basketball team is always great now. Well now 4 players from U of M were selected in major league baseball's amateur draft and several students are near the top in the nation in shot put and hammer throw. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2008/...hampionships-a/ The women's basketball team used to be good also and the football team has been to.... I think 4 bowl games in the past 5 years.

http://gotigersgo.cstv.com/genrel/012008aaa.html Not only could my school be ranked #1 in the country later today and has a chance at a National Championship, not only did the women's soccer team go to the ncaa tournament, not only did the football team go toa bowl game, but now University of Memphis won TWO National Championships. 1. The cheerleading squad won the National Championship. 2. The dance team won the hip hop division National Championship for the second straight year. Memphis has been known for immense talent for many years, but now it's becoming overwhelming how much is possessed by students at this school.

The University of Memphis's Women's soccer team won the Conference UAS Championship. They will soon find out who they play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. U of M has great athletic teams year in and year out. Some of them go up and down over the years, but this is just another example of the great sports which Memphiand get to be fans of on the collegiate level. In the past there have been great teams here for men's basketball, women's basketball, pop pop squaf, cheerleading, baseball, softball, I believe the golf teams have done good some years, and now soccer. http://gotigersgo.cstv.com/sports/w-soccer.../111107aaa.html

  12. http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/news/story?s...&id=2965150 CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Robby Gordon faces indefinite suspension if he's not on his best behavior in the Nextel Cup and Busch Series for the remainder of the season. Gordon on Tuesday was fined $35,000 and placed on probation for the remainder of the year in both of NASCAR's top two series for his behavior in Saturday's Busch Series race in Montreal. The penalties came on top of Gordon being "parked" from driving in Sunday's Cup race at Pocono Raceway. "If he does anything that we consider conduct detrimental to [the sport] or if he in any way disrupts the orderly running of an event he will be suspended indefini…

  13. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/ne...tory?id=2958364 The heavyweight division's first unification title fight since 1999? So much for that. But the October card in Moscow will go on -- thanks to Evander Holyfield. WBA champion Ruslan Chagaev, who was scheduled to meet WBO titleholder Sultan Ibragimov on Oct. 13 in Moscow, withdrew from the fight Thursday because of an undisclosed stomach ailment, a source involved in the fight said. Following Chagaev's decision to not fight, Ibragimov's promoters announced that Holyfield would fill the card in a quest to win the the heavyweight title for a fifth time. Holyfield will be fighting in Russia for the first time.

You can now bet points on sports matchups and even other things once I set them up. The payout doesnt seem to be working right, but I put a test game for tonight. The cutoff time is EASTERN Time. For today I am only allowing 10 point bets. FOR NOW only bet 1 time on a matchup. I really doubt I will ever allow multiple bets on the same event! That makes no sense once I raise the limit. The limit is there for a reason, why let people bet 2 times to double the limit? lol Anyway, here are some notes: 1. The team must win by the "spread" or you lose. Sometimes I will have no spread. 2. If payout is not 1:1 (example it is 2:1 for this practice one) then if you pick…

What a way to finish the race.... 1) Kenseth Leading with like 3 laps to go. 2) Gets spun out on the corner by Gordon 3) Gets put in like 8th spot to start after the caution. 4) Then runs out of gas while waiting for the race to re-start after the caution 5) Gets to his pit changes tires and get gas.... 6) Gets back out on the track to wreck his car and finish somewhere in the back of the field. 7) Gordon wins.

DETROIT (CP) - The unbreakable will and desire that made Steve Yzerman one of the greatest NHL players in history told him to play one more season. The knee worn down after 22 years of hockey at its highest level told him it simply wasn't possible, at least not at the level he wanted. It left Yzerman no choice but to officially announce his retirement on Monday and bring an end to a playing career that made him one of the most respected men in hockey. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=170385&hubname=nhl
